Dental only. Wanted to get teeth cleaned. They Required I be seen by dentist first. Asked how much that would cost. The offered sliding scale application but did not tell me estimated cost. I asked 3 times. Doing xrays I asked is this necessary how much is this going to cost. After dentist exam they gave me a list of things he wanted to do and the cost. 1200. For the 5th time I asked Insisting how much is today going to cost. Finaly got an answer 850$ We should be given a cost estimate of any procedure before the procedure.. I said I didn't want any of it. Dr Foster showed me a white spot on my tongue, said we need to watch that as oral cancer looks like that. After refusing the dental work he walked out. No referral or advice on the possible cancer. After leaving went back to main desk asking for referral for possible cancer. They offered FU with Dr Foster. I said no. So we made an appointment with PCP Marion Ruth .. Marion Ruth gets 5 stars. The highest possible reccomendation. She is real, she listens and asks questions appropriately. She looks things up if she doesnt know answers, discusses the answers. I love her. ❤️ . She will be my PCP as long as she will have me. Highly value her advice because she clearly shows she cares, honest, straight forward. AND solid knowledge base.

I just want to give a huge shoutout to the team at Sunshine Community Health Center in Talkeetna. Every time I’ve been there, they’ve been incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely caring. You can tell they truly care about the people in their community, and they go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and heard. It’s such a relief knowing there’s a place like this in Talkeetna that you can trust. Also, the Willow location deserves so much appreciation too. The staff there are just as amazing, professional, welcoming, and always willing to help no matter what you need. They make the whole experience feel easy and supportive, which means so much. Sunshine really sets the standard for compassionate care in our area.
I saw the dentist and Tracy the hygienist, Tracy is amazing , loved seeing her and she was really helpful, love that about her! Liked the dentist , she was sincere and helpful . Glad I got to meet her and look forward to seeing her again! Will be making an appointment to get started on the fillings I need very soon.
I appreciate the professional & compassionate care I get every time I go here. I love that most employees are community members. Last time I needed their services I had a young health aide that I met when she was in high school with my son. She was in training and it gave me great hope for the future of our growing little clinic.
My overall experience was a 3.5. There were 2 parts to my visit. P-1) The (M/A) who checked me in and did my intake seemed to be new to the position. They were nervous, but did well at being courteous and professional but could not pronounce any of my medications. I would rate them @ a 4 based on effort. P-2) My visit required a X-ray. This was performed by a different person. They also tried to be professional, but clearly were very “green”. I was in a lot of pain, and while they tried to comfort me, they were very slow and seemed flustered with getting thru the process. I was definitely uncomfortable and in more pain by the time they finished. I’m very sensitive to perfumes and they had on a lot of it. I had a headache by the time the X-rays were completed. I would give them a 3 based on their lack of experience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
