Texas State Optical San Marcos

I had a fantastic experience at Texas State Optical in San Marcos with Dr. Ramos and his team. The office is beautiful, clean, and very bright — it immediately made the visit feel welcoming and professional. The intake receptionist was incredibly efficient. She checked me in quickly, processed my insurance without any issues, and had me taken back right away to begin the latest tests for my eye health. The technician who performed the pre-tests was so pleasant and explained everything she was doing, which made the whole process comfortable and easy to understand. Dr. Ramos took his time with me and thoroughly explained the changes in my vision along with my options for glasses. I originally planned to just get my prescription and buy glasses online, but the checkout tech was amazing and extremely helpful. She encouraged me to take a look at their frame selection and helped me narrow down a couple of great options. I couldn’t decide between two frames, especially since the one I really liked wasn’t available in the color I wanted. She went above and beyond by placing an order for that frame and will contact me when it arrives so I can decide which pair I want to purchase. This was my first ever eye exam, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a new eye doctor. Dr. Ramos and his team are the epitome of eye care professionals.

Dr. Ramos and his assistant Hallie made my eye exam experience comfortable and informative. Hallie did some research and found out that I had better vision benefits through BCBS, than the other insurance I had used in the past. I felt that I was in very competent and experienced hands. I would highly recommend Dr. Ramos and his team.

Dr. Ramos was great. He’s very informative and truly does have his patients best interests at heart. The girl who signed, I believe she was the assistant and the other girl who sat down with me and went thru my lenses options were great. Very informative and didn’t press me on up sales. They have a great selection of frames and not too expensive either. It’s a new location and I’m loving it. I’m looking forward to future visits with Dr. Ramos. (There was one girl who came in the exam room and pointed her finger at me and told the Assistant something about me and then walked out. The assistant said ohh don’t worry about it it’s nothing. It was weird tho. She didn’t say anything to me just pointed and looked at me) but other than her the other girls were fantastic and I enjoyed my first visit to TSO.

I had a little difficulty finding the place, but when I called Selena, the receptionist, she gave me very clear directions and I found it easily. Later, I met Haley and she gave me a very thorough Initial exam with the equipment in the work room. And finally, Dr. Ramos did a very diligent and conscientious examination of my eyes. They were all very kind! I’ve been going to the same optometrist for the last 10 yrs and with this being my first time elsewhere, I definitely see a difference in hospitality and pricing. They also had a small but great selection of glasses. I finally found some cute frame worth purchasing and will be returning. Mind you I haven’t purchased new ones since 2020.
