Although Dr. Ticho is an amazing Doctor, I had some confusions with his staff today. I arrived 30 minutes early for my son’s eye appointment thinking everything was fine, only to be told during check-in that the doctor he was scheduled with didn’t accept his insurance. The receptionist explained it had something to do with Indiana changing insurance names, which I understood. I told her my son has a secondary insurance I could provide, but she said it wouldn’t matter because their system would still try to run the primary one and it would conflict. She then said they had called me on Wednesday the 11th to reschedule and left a voicemail. I told her I did receive a text this morning and I did get a call but believed it was just a confirmation. She excused it as an automated system. We ended up having to reschedule for much later unfortunately but fortunately with Dr.Ticho who supposedly accepts his insurance. After I got back to my car, I listened to the voicemail again and it was indeed only a confirmation message by a staff member not a reschedule notice. I drove 35 minutes for this appointment, so it was frustrating and felt like a complete waste of time. I understand insurance issues can be complicated, but clearer communication beforehand would have prevented the trip and inconvenience.

Dr. Ticho was amazing, and the staff was just as great! Tristan stood out for being so kind and patient with my 2-year-old daughter—we had a really positive experience.

My son was a preemie , so we’ve been taking him here by default since he was born , cuz I thought I had no other choice and they schedule appointments so far out , circumstances , number change . And they give you a 50 dollar miss appt fee . If I don’t confirm my appointment CANEL IT . I won’t be back . Not to mention when they messed up my apt and told me I had a appt , I took off work and everything just not to even have one , I should have charged 50 dollars for wasting my time .

We've been taking our son here since he was 10 months old, but after recent interactions, we will no longer be taking him here. They told me they would no longer treat him even though I paid three times the amount of the balance that was on his account ($20 but we paid sixty something). His appointment was cancelled on us without notice over the $20 balance. I also don't think they billed the insurance because we paid like $300 out of pocket for his glasses every single time plus a $60 copay to be seen. I also had to pay to recieve a copy of my son's prescription which I was always told was $40. We are now seeing Dr.Vasamsetti in Munster and only paid $10 in total despite his glasses costing $419 and they gladly handed me a copy of his prescriprion at the end of the visit without me even asking for it. I loved the doctor he saw there (Not Dr.Ticho) so it's a shame it came down to this. I always recommend Ticho to family and friends, but now I no longer will. They just seem money hungry to me.
