Toiyabe Indian Health Project

Dr. Leyva is such a kind and honest and patient dentist. I have really bad dental anxiety and Dr. Leyva was exceptionally patient and understanding of my situation. I had a mini meltdown, maybe not so mini and I was really embarrassed because I was crying but Dr. Leyva and his staff were so loving and kind, that's all I can say is just so grateful for my dentist and his ability to understand the care I need and never made me feel like I'm putting him out in any way. Toiyabe is a gem✌🏼

Got a call from Toiyabe Dental to confirm my appt for the day. Driving there, I got “lost” on the Rez driving down the wrong street. I was one street over. So I called to tell them I’m on the Rez but took a wrong turn, etc, as I was driving into the parking lot. My appt was 1:45, and my watch said 1:48. Dental receptionist said “it’s now 1:51, so we’re CANCELLING your appt. I’m literally running down the hall, almost there & SHES says “Too late, you’re over the 5 min late rule”! I was dumbfounded. I “get” that places have rules. But I also know rules have been bent there. I can’t help but wondering; if I’d been a friend, or tribal member, would they have looked the other way, considering I called, they knew I was walking thru the door, etc. How many times do they take me back, clip a bib on me, while I WAIT for the Dentist to come into my room. Pretty sure they allow one hour per appt ( routine filling), so had they shown a TINY BIT of humanity, ( nobody was in the waiting room !) they could have easily shown me the same understanding they show tribal friends.

Love Dr. Frazier and all of the staff. So kind and knowledgeable. I am treated very well.

I'm there for Dentistry. All friendly. I used to see vision too for years. I recommend both.
