I haven’t had a good experience with the Optometrist at this location, my time with her felt like a hustle. The staff and the ladies at the front desk were wonderful but that’s where my satisfaction ended. I was leary going back a second time but ecstatic when I was informed that I would have a different doctor (Dr. Robertson) for my second appointment. I hadn’t met Dr. Robertson yet but she looked personable and welcoming.. and she was!! She actually listened to my concerns and explained everything - genuinely caring and attentive. Not one single second felt like a sales pitch (which was my experience with the previous doctor). I left smiling and so grateful for her care. Thank you Dr . Robertson and the ladies at the front, for your patience and kindness.

TLDR: The woman at the front desk, likely Jackie as they wouldn't confirm who answered my call and made the notes in my chart, is rude, impatient, and unprofessional - if you are on the spectrum, beware. 4/15/26 update - when calling back after a medical exam through my insurance (my eyes are fine) she remarked, "I don't know why you want to come back to us if you have another doctor." I paid over $100 for a contact fitting that still hasn't been completed. The doctor I went to through my insurance for the recommended medical exam said that they should have just ordered new trials instead of telling me I needed a medical exam. 4/29/26 - The doctor gave me another contact trial that was blurry, although at the last appointment they said that they tried all the trials they have and thus recommended a $150+ medical exam. They wanted to to come back again in another week to discuss how this trial doesn't work and still won't guarantee that they will order new trials since the ones they have in stock obviously aren't suitable. I give up, they can keep my money - hopefully my records are sent to my new doctor soon. Though Dr. Kim was quick to note that they wouldn't carry the technology she has (they do, and they didn't charge me extra to use it). Re their reply, no one brought up my prior experiences and when I tried confirming I had the proper name of the person I talked to on the phone (I now realize was not Dee) they dodged the question, said there were no notes in my chart and that they couldn't confirm who I talked to/when, as they have many people working the front desk. Even going as far as asking their coworker if they're allowed to give out people's names...the info should be in my chart, I'm entitled to my records. Note: they tried to charge me $50 for copies of my medical records, violating HIPPA and WA code. I don't have the energy to argue this with them. They told my new doctor on the 6th that record requests take 2-4 weeks but that the request I made on the 1st was received. At the follow up on the 29th, they now say that they need to forward the request to the doctor - it's been 4 weeks since I submitted the request, violating HIPPA and WA code. I have autism and struggle with social interactions and advocating for myself in a medical setting. Having seen the woman at the front desk be rude to multiple patients during my in-person appointment, I was very careful about being respectful to her on my phone call. By the end of the call she wouldn't let me speak and hung up on me before I could request that they email me copies of my paperwork. I tried calling back 3 times and she would answer then immediately hang up. I tried finding an email to request the paperwork but couldn't find it on their website. Thankfully, if you wait till the end of the automated message on the phone, you can leave a message. Having to deal with short-tempered staff that lack empathy and compassion is difficult for someone with disabilities. The way the business is structured to make money, not help patients. The woman at the front desk seems to pride herself in eliminating problem patients - it's disheartening that my autism qualifies me as one. No refund, no referral, no copies of my paperwork.

I haven't been here for over 6 years and there's a ton of new technology and upgrades. I was fairly impressed and not to mention the staff and Dr. Kim were amazing! They made me feel comfortable and it was such a pleasant experience overall. Also, got pick out some new glasses and that was fun too.

We chose TruVision Eyecare because we were told we would be seeing Dr. Tiffany Kim and trusted that level of care, especially since my husband has a medical condition that requires proper monitoring. That is not what happened. At every visit, we were told day-of that we would instead be seeing a “visiting doctor.” I even had to push to have my husband seen by Dr. Kim. Between my husband, myself, and our two daughters, we have brought our entire family here, completed multiple (4) exams, purchased several (4) pairs of glasses, and even bought additional products recommended by her in-office. The care has been inconsistent. Different providers gave conflicting medical guidance (for example, eye drops 6 times a day vs 2–3 times). During my own exam, I did not feel it was thorough and was told my issues were due to “dry eyes,” with repeated drops used instead of what felt like a proper evaluation. We were also sold products based on those recommendations, which adds to the concern. On the billing side, my husband submitted vision insurance ahead of time, yet the visit was switched to medical billing without clear explanation. While we were told it would be billed to medical, there was no explanation that it would likely apply to our deductible and result in a significantly higher out-of-pocket cost. We paid at the time of service and later received an additional $190 bill. The services performed (exam, refraction, and imaging) were the same as what we received for routine visits, which makes it unclear what justified the higher-cost medical billing. When I called to discuss this, I was dismissed, denied the opportunity to speak with the owner or anyone else, and the call was ended abruptly. This has been a very disappointing experience, especially after bringing our entire family and making multiple purchases. We expected transparency and consistent care and did not receive either.

I’ve come here a couple of times and the staff is always great! Dr. Kim is very descriptive and detailed in explaining all details and answering questions you may have. I’ll definitely come back but one thing I have to mention that I find highly unethical is asking for a tip when checking out. Couldn’t believe that was an option. Not sure if that’s the new norm here or because I got something possibly considered a beauty product, but was suggested to prevent dry eye. Regardless, it was paid for with my exam. Would recommend removing that moving forward, tipping should absolutely not be something in the medical field.
