I had a really good experience at this Visionworks location this morning. The office was clean and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Dryier was excellent. She was kind, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly during the exam. The whole visit was smooth and efficient. I’d definitely recommend them. Not sure why this location has so many negative reviews.

Went in back in March for a contact lens and glasses exam. I picked out new frames and everyone was pleasant. One thing that surprised me, though, was that nobody asked me about lens options other than whether I wanted tinted lenses. I said no thanks, and that was it. I was told they didn’t have trial contacts for my new prescription but that they would order some. After a while I still hadn’t heard anything, so I decided to just order my contacts through Costco. While placing the order, I noticed the prescription I had been given was wrong. Mistakes happen, so I called the office expecting it to be corrected quickly. Instead, there didn’t seem to be much urgency. I finally received the corrected prescription by email the following day. At that point I decided to take a chance and order the contacts without ever trying the trial lenses because I didn’t want to deal with calling the office again. Unfortunately, when I started wearing them, they developed cloudy spots almost immediately. I assumed maybe it was something I was doing, so I went back to using an old box of my daily contacts. Fast forward to now—I ran out of my dailies and had to switch back to the new prescription. Right away I noticed the prescription itself didn’t seem right because I developed a headache almost immediately. I called the office to see if there was anything they could do, even though I knew it had been a few months since my exam. I was told I’d have to pay for another exam. The woman on the phone also told me my prescription had only changed by 0.25, but she was clearly looking at the original prescription that had been written incorrectly. I pointed that out, but she didn’t seem interested in looking into it further. I also reminded her that I wasn’t able to order contacts right away because I’d initially been given the wrong prescription, and that I never received the trial lenses I was told would be ordered. Neither concern seemed to matter. When I mentioned the new contacts kept getting foggy and developing spots almost immediately, while my daily contacts never do, I was told it was probably allergies. That explanation didn’t make much sense to me since the issue only happens with the new two-week lenses and not with the daily lenses. One other thing worth mentioning: one of my eyes has a much stronger prescription than the other, and I was never asked whether I wanted high-index (thinner) lenses. I didn’t think to ask at the time, but when my glasses arrived one lens was noticeably thicker than the other, making them uncomfortable to wear. To be fair, they do clearly advertise a 100-day return policy, and I never attempted to return them. In the end, I called Costco and explained everything. They immediately told me to bring the contacts in, refunded them without any hassle, and said they’d help me find a better option. I’ll be using Costco’s eye doctor going forward. The difference in customer service was night and day. I was not asking the eye doctor to do anything but recheck the prescription. I mentioned I could deal with the glasses, and would ask Costco about returning the lenses but nothing mattered.

Typically go to the one in Tinley but this location is closer and I had alot to get done..I went in looked at some frames..didn't see any that I liked so I asked the blonde woman if she could adjust the right arm on my glasses.. it was loose... she didnt even ask what I needed..I could tell she didnt know what she was doing but wanted to give benefit of doubt... she twisted my glasses in a way that the frames were sitting inward on my face and outward at the top.. I went and grabbed the exact pair of my frames that was on the shelf and sat that frame next to mine and showed her the huge difference in what she just bent my frames into... she tried again to adjust them and handed them to me and said here.. I didnt take them back as I looked at the part that curves around your ear on the right arm and she cracked it and broke it...I looked at her and said you broke my glasses... she said oh would you like me to order you new frames? I said...I literally cannot see without my glasses (legally blind without them) and she said I can put your lenses in the frame I took from the shelf... seen she was struggling to do that.. I said if you cant do this just tell me bc I cannot afford to go without seeing if you break my lenses.. she said she couldn't get them in the frames..I took the lenses and frames and left to the tinley location. Thankfully it was still light outside as I had to use my rx sunglasses to see. Why on earth do you hire people that have no clue what they are doing or how to even just tighten a screw??? Thats all it needed. And offering to order a new pair that would take two weeks to get back??? I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING WITHOUT MY GLASSES, its like taking away someones wheelchair for two weeks!!! So this company was perfectly fine for me to not be able to work for two weeks..not be able to drive for two weeks so no groceries or food for my kids... entirely unacceptable. Do not go here to have your glasses tightened up or adjusted if you can't see without your glasses...they'll break them and act like its no big deal. If tinley location had not been able to get my lenses in.. you would have heard from my lawyer bc your actions would have literally rendered me disabled until my glasses came back weeks later. Sorry but not being able to see a thing for two weeks renders someone incapable of daily activities including loss of work. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience that cause total stress for HOURS until Stacey at the tinley location worked hard on getting my lenses into the frames

I cannot stress enough how unbelievably disappointing and downright unprofessional this location is. I scheduled simple kindergarten vision exams for my 5-year-old twin boys, provided all their information up front, received multiple confirmations, AND even got a phone call the night before where I explicitly explained they were 5-year-old twins. I was assured—verbatim—“we can accommodate them.” That was a lie. We arrived on time, checked in, waited patiently… and then the disaster began. The employee who took us back didn’t even bother to hide her attitude. The very first thing out of her mouth was, “Does he even know his letters?” Excuse me? He’s five years old. Yes, he knows his letters, but like any kindergartener, he may need a second to respond. Instead of working with him (you know, the bare minimum for someone whose job is to examine children’s eyes), she immediately hinted he’d “probably need a pediatric specialist,” something that would’ve been EXTREMELY helpful to mention before the appointment—not after wasting our time. During the pre-exam, she repeatedly complained that “he keeps moving his eyes.” He’s FIVE. You’re the trained professional—maybe guide him? I even asked, “What do you want him to do?” and she replied, “Stare at the house image.” I told my son exactly that, he did it perfectly, and before I could even blink she abruptly stopped the exam, walked out, and came back with a referral card. No attempt to continue. No effort. No patience. She had clearly made up her mind before she even tried. She didn’t even bother examining my other son. Just shut everything down. This was a complete and total waste of time, and an embarrassment for a company that claims to serve families. If VisionWorks cannot handle a basic vision exam for a 5-year-old—after confirming multiple times that they could—they should say so upfront instead of stringing parents along. I strongly advise ANY parent with children under 10 to avoid this location entirely. They are unprepared, unprofessional, and absolutely incapable of accommodating even the most standard pediatric needs. What a joke.
