My first time at Dartmouth Visionworks and highly enjoyed my experience. The doctor listened to my concerns and didn't rush the exam. Lynn understood what my insurance covered and heard what I wanted to purchase vs trying to oversell me. Thank you app for a great first visit! I'll bring the rest of the family for their appointments!

First- I tried not to write this review but there have been too many reasons to not do it. Our family has been coming to this location for years for our contact lenses and glasses and have always been happy with the ease of making appointments, speed of services etc. This last year has been atrocious. We book our appointments a year in advance since we have to have annual contact lens fittings. My daughter and I both received confirmations for our annuals a week prior only to receive another text about 4 days prior that we needed to reschedule as the doctor will not be in. So we rescheduled my daughters (hers was a couple of months ago) only to find at the rescheduled appointment, the doctor was almost an hour behind schedule. So we rescheduled again. And guess what? They put her second rescheduled appointment in wrong- set it for a Saturday morning (she waitresses late Fridays so we clearly told them no to that date-time). So we had to reschedule a third time. So when I received confirmation for my upcoming appointment and then was informed I had to reschedule because the doctor would not be in- I canceled completely and booked at another location. Not sure how or why they schedule appointments on days there will be no doctor. If the doctor was scheduled for a vacation- pretty sure they knew this long before a week ahead of it. So over this disorganization.
I went into this vison works absolutely sure I was going to be buying lens from them. No doubt in my mind, as I’ve been a customer my entire life. That was until I encountered Shelly. My first observation of her was yelling at an elderly customer because the customer did not understand her extremely vague and short statements. My encounter with her was not much better. Started off by telling me I shouldn’t purchase what I wanted to. (Great sales tactic if you ask me) and she proceeded to absolutely roast my glasses. It was actually unbearable to sit there but I was genuinely scared to get up and leave in fear she would start screaming at me as well. I highly highly highly recommend getting rid of this women if you ever want to make any sales. Even the elderly women before me denied a sale after she was yelled at. This was absolutely insane. Walked out there confident and very happy to take my business quite literally anywhere else!
Vision Works was our go-to place for all of our glasses for almost 15 years. Last time I was there ( every 2 years per my insurance) everything was top notch. When I went for my visit 2 days ago (Aug 2026) there were all new people there. The check in was a struggle for the woman checking me in. What usually is a 45 minute to 1 hour visit turned into close to 2 hours! There is only 1 woman that knows how to actually do the glasses portion of the visit. The eye exam doctor was great! The customer service part was the worst I've ever seen. The woman that does the glasses was great when she FINALLY got to me. The visit was spent waiting and waiting while there were only 4 -5 customers in the store it still took nearly 2 hours. We will most likely be switching to another establishment after my disastrous visit! Extremely disappointed with this store in Dartmouth now!
The customer service was Excellent !!! Lynne, was Totally Awesome. She helped me find the Right frames and glasses for my face. She's very knowledgeable and Very Nice. Excellent People skills and Service. I had a Great Experience there. That was my first time going there, for glasses, and, I can honestly say, that was the Nicest place, for Friendly, and Excellent customer service. I will definitely go back there again, For glasses in the future years to come. I was very Happy and Comfortable with the staff there. Keep up the Great Work Ladies ! That was the Best place, I ever went for glasses. So glad, I did.
