Been going to Walmart now for years for my eye care needs, and never had an issue. However recently my experience with them has been poor. I purchased a pair of glasses here almost a year ago now, with the warranty included. Everything was fine until just a few days ago I got my first obvious chip, from a soda lid of all things. Now they already had a few fine scratches that while annoying could be ignored, but I figured ehh I paid extra for the warranty might as well use it. So I gave the vision center a call and explained what had happened, an associate named Gary I believe had reassured me that the warranty was still active, and to bring them in so the lens could be replaced. Awesome right, glad I didn't cheap out and skip the warranty...is what I wish I could say. An associate "Holly" examined the glasses and refused to fulfill the warranty. The cited reason "The damage is not within the line of sight." Now for unrelated reasons I wasn't able to go myself to drop off the glasses, but as the wearer of said glasses its definitely within my eyesight, and some of the scratches are literally right in front of my eyeball. So when I found out that the warranty that, cost extra mind you was refused I gave them a call. Lucky for me Associate Holly was the one to answer, when I explained the situation, she reaffirmed what I was told. When I then explained that actually yes they are within my line of sight I was given a new reason for the refusal. "Actually the reason I was refused the warranty is because I couldn't justify it without catastrophic damage." Cool so in exchange for a multi hour drive, and extra cost for the warranty I get a chipped, and scratched pair of glasses, and a newfound regret for letting myself be convinced to get the warranty.
