I’ve been here twice with glasses emergencies. Both times was in and out within 20 minutes with my expectations exceeded. First time glasses were broken, was told by another place that i had to get a jeweler to solder them and that they wouldn’t attempt to help. Again was in and out of walmart with the repair made within 20minutes. Second time my frames were snapped in half. Was told by two other places that they would have to order me frames and that it would be about 2-3 weeks. I was in and out of walmart within 20 minutes again with new frames for $9!! I didn’t need anything special as i have an appt with the VA in 2 weeks but cannot go without seeing for that long. Great customer service!!!

Staff was nice. Good exam, decent glasses. 1 star is because they absolutely WILL NOT give out your pupil distance. Which you need if you want to use a 400 dollar VR headset, or order glasses, or sunglasses online. I won't be returning there.
Great experience! Doctor was so sweet and knowledgeable. Maureen at the front desk was very helpful when checking out! Overall a good experience for my first real check up! Excited to see them next time
Another update: I was told when i bought the best progressive lenses i wouldnt have to worry about anything else. After 3 months, and no they were not dropped, i had two scratches on my lenses. I brought them back and was told matter of factly i didnt buy a protection plan, which was never offered, being told these were the best i didnt have to worry about anything i assumed it was scratch resistant. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO THE RENSSELAER WALMART VISION CENTER. I will never go again and will keep telling this story if i ever hear anyone wanting to go here. And i will be contacting the corporate office of this company. I had two new pair of frames and purchased two sets of lenses which cost me about $1,000 for the lenses only. About two months later one if my lenses fell out. I went back to the rensselaer walmart where I purchased them and told the girl what happened. She had said she couldnt fix it there was no plastic line. I had asked her I am out $472 now what am I supposed to do? She said she could do nothing for me. I asked to talk to the manager she said they weren’t there I asked when they would be there she said she didn’t know. I got a call back she said she didnt know i bought the lenses there she would have the manager call. She also said I didnt tell her I didnt buy the frames there. What is the difference. Whether I purchased them there or not the lense should not have fallen out. The next day Rachel called not nasty but not real nice. The only person that was enjoyable to work with at this vision center was the eye doctor. The entire group of women who work there besides her have the worst attitudes I have ever seen. I went to the walmart vision center in Washington Ave Walmart and they couldn’t believe how I was treated. Patrick fixed my glasses he was very nice about it even though they are not even the same company ar the rensselaer store. I would definately go to this Washington Ave Walmart vision center over rensselaer anyday!!
My experience with the Walmart Vision Center was pleasant enough...the people were very nice and seemed quite efficient; but when I received the progressive lenses that were made for me from the Center's optometrist's prescription, I could not see through them clearly. Everything was blurry. I could not determine a point of clarity in any part of the glasses. There was no place in the entire field of vision that was not blurry. I stated that "everything was blurry" at the time of the fitting and the assistant made several adjustments. Unfortunately I brought the glasses home thinking that my eyes would eventually learn to adjust to the blurriness, but they never did. I cannot use the glasses for reading, working on the computer, much less, driving as they distort my depth perception terribly. The glasses cost nearly $400. I liked the people but I cannot recommend getting progressive lenses made here.
