I visited the Walmart Vision Center intending to purchase a pair of prescription sunglasses, but unfortunately, I received no customer service at all. I stood in the sunglasses section for about two minutes waiting for assistance. During that time, the representative never acknowledged my presence or asked if I needed help. I could clearly see his reflection in the mirror while I was browsing, and he never looked up from his computer. After waiting, I finally asked, “Excuse me, are you busy?” His response was simply, “Yes, I am.” What made the experience even more disappointing was that there were no other customers in the Vision Center at the time. Based on what I observed, there was NO ONE else waiting to be helped. I was genuinely surprised by his response. Even if he was completing another task, a simple acknowledgment such as, “I’ll be with you in just a moment,” would have gone a long way. I came in ready to make a purchase, but instead I left feeling ignored and unwelcome. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. I hope management addresses the importance of acknowledging customers and providing basic courtesy, even when staff are occupied with other work.

This visit was a red flag from the start of a phone call to book an appointment. The eye doctor himself conducted the phone call where he argued about what my insurance covers versus doesn't, however I spoke with my insurance prior to calling for an appointment and I have used my insurance prior with no issues. He decided to give me a discount if I paid cash, I have no issue at this point. I come in for appointment, all seemed okay until the testing begins and there was a teenager doing the testing but was not done correctly(I've gone to eye doctor for 30 plus years....you know at this point if testing is sketchy). I see the eye doctor and I instantly wanted to leave. This man decided to tell me it's impossible to be allergic to milk as I would be dead if my mother breast fed me......crickets go off in my head and I'm like Jesus fix it. Then tells me I have old eyes and I need bifocal. He gives me a pair of contacts after telling me I was wrong about the brand I am used to wearing......another huge red flag. The contacts were not right,my vision was blurry and I could not focus. I also requested to have a toric lense as night time driving is near impossible with my astigmatism but was met with I don't know what I am talking about. My prescription according to him was a -4.50 in both eyes and a bifocal lense of +1.25 I went to my eye doctor in VA BCH that i have seen for 20 plus years. My prescription is a -3.50 both eyes with a toriclense to correct astigmatism and I do not need bifocals anytime soon. I recommend anyone seeing this eye doctor to get a second opinion, your eyes deserve the best care and this guy isn't it.
Solomon Thompson is the best there, knowledgeable, and very professional. Do you want good glasses, go with him....
