⚠️ **WARNING: MY EXPERIENCE AT A VISION CENTER** ⚠️ I WOULD NEVER HAVE SURGERY ON MY EYES UNLESS I WAS UNABLE TO SEE WITH CORRECTIVE EYEWEAR DUE TO THE RISKS. I scheduled a routine vision exam to get a prescription for a new pair of glasses. I provided my **vision insurance** information and was upsold an additional **$50** for optional testing. After the exam, I was told that I **MAY** have cataracts and was advised to see a surgeon for additional testing. I was then escorted to the front desk, where I was unexpectedly asked for my **HEALTH INSURANCE** information instead of my vision insurance. What happened next is what concerns me most. I was **NOT given my eyeglass prescription**, even though I had completed the exam. Instead, I was told I needed to make an appointment with a **SPECIFIC eye surgeon** that the PEARLE recommended. After seeing that surgeon, I was told I would then have to return for **another appointment** before my prescription would be released—resulting in another office visit and additional charges. As a patient, this left me feeling that I was being directed into a series of appointments and referrals before receiving the prescription I originally scheduled and paid for. AT A VERY VERY HIGH CHARGE. If you've had a similar experience, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
