They got me in the day after i called for a new patient appointment after i lost my script and glasses in a house fire that took everything. The staff was so kind and personable and caring while keeping my situation in mind. I think this will be my optometrist until i move too far to drive in or they (which i hope never happens) for some reason close down.

I called last Thursday to see if my glasses were in and was told they had just arrived. She hadn’t checked them in yet, but said they I could come in anytime to pick them up. I ran behind that day and it was a holiday weekend, so I didn’t go in until the following Wednesday. I arrived at open and was asked by the woman at the desk if I had received a call. I proceeded to explain the call from the previous week. Both her and the other woman working went in back and attempted to locate them. Finally they call another associate, the one I spoke to over the phone last week, and the woman in the office responds with “well, she’ll just have to come back. I’ll call her when I find them. Nothing I can do”. Both women attempt to look for a few more minutes, then one comes out and says, “I don’t know what to tell you other than, they are lost. We both were out last week and the girl working last week can’t remember what she did with them”. ????? Really? I need them to start work tomorrow. She offers to leave them in an outside spot and says she will call me. I never receive a call…Hoping when my fiancé drives across town when he gets home from work they are there. What kind of business is this? Her excuse was, “this office wouldn’t even be open today if her and I didn’t come off hospital leave early”. Where is the management? From my experience, when an office is short, management steps up and fills the gap. Where is the customer service? YOU Loose my glasses and can’t even call to let me know if you found them before you close early for the day??? This will be the last time I get glasses here. I will edit to add the glasses were where she said she would put them. I’m thankful for this and appreciate the assistance. It still would’ve been nice for a call to let me know they were there. I feel for her, as it seems as though it’s not the best working atmosphere.
Had great experiences with this office until recently. Scheduled my annual appointment like normal but the morning of the appointment they called and said they were having trouble electronically filing my insurance. Gave me the option of rescheduling or paying full price up front. I rescheduled and was told they’d order me a trial pair of contacts to get me through until my rescheduled appointment that was a month out. Fast forward to the morning of rescheduled appointment. I get the same phone call with the same promise of a trail pair of contacts to get me through. I explain that never came to fruition last month and at that point I couldn’t wait another month. I go to appointment, pay up front, and leave with a fresh pair of contacts and my new prescription. The receptionist says she’ll call when insurance issue is cleared up so I can order contacts and I should receive the insurance reimbursement check within a week or two. Fast forward to two weeks later. I get the check. It’s much lower than it should be. The insurance issue was the office isn’t in my network anymore. So, I’m out that money. When I go to another office that does accept my insurance and hand them my prescription I’m told it doesn’t include contact information, only glasses. I’ve now got to go back to Dr. Scoggins office to get the contact prescription and am further delayed in my quest to order contacts because this office is closed on Fridays and it's a holiday weekend so closed Monday as well. Terrible, terrible experience. Do not trust this office.
When trying to get an appointment scheduled I encountered attitude about appointment availability (will have to wait 3 weeks) and more attitude when I asked for recommendations for other doctors who would accept my insurance. The receptionist did not want to offer recommendations for competitors (and actually said that), even though I needed an appointment sooner than 20/20 Vision Works could offer. Snippy on the first call and more concerned about sending business to a competitor than helping an individual with their health care needs? That says enough about how they run their business. Decided to go elsewhere for my eye care and I'm glad I did. Very happy with scheduling experience with New Vision Eye Care and recommend them to others.
This place was very unprofessional from the start. I called in to set up an appointment, got everything squared away so I thought. When I walked in no one acknowledged me i had to make myself known. Just for them to try to search my information, my name is Tyffani yet in the system i was listed as Michelle. I don’t know how that gets lost in translation or is it because they assumed a black girl would be named Michelle. After my initial visit with interest in contact lenses, they did not have the ones i needed to do a test trial. I had to set another appointment. The second appointment i was told this was a “cleaning day” and they were not prepared for me. Even though THEY gave me that appointment and time. They were still able to do my test trial. Then I was suppose to return in a week to get my actual contact prescriptions and did . That day the lady who processes contact through insurance was “busy” and said she would call to do everything over the phone. Have called and reached out twice a week later have not heard from them. Will not be returning. I gave them a 2 because the actual eye doctor was professional and knowledgeable.
