Yesterday I had the best experience at A-B-See Vision Care with Dr. Evans. For the past 16 years, I’ve been dealing with an undiagnosed issue with my left eye. Within minutes, Dr. Evans recognized what it was, gave it a name, and finally provided the answer I’d been searching for. Over the years, I’ve been to Idaho Eye Surgery Center twice, undergone two MRIs, seen multiple eye doctors, and even been told that my symptoms didn’t make sense. Not having an explanation has been a huge source of anxiety for me. To finally have answers after all this time is an incredible relief. Thank you, Dr. Evans, for listening, recognizing what others had missed, and giving me peace of mind. I truly appreciate your expertise and compassionate care.

I've been seeing Dr. Lisa Porter since I was a child, and I've continued with her ever since she opened A-B-See Vision Care. She now cares for my whole family and I truly can't imagine going anywhere else. Dr. Porter is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and genuinely cares about her patients. She takes time to answer questions, explains everything clearly, and never makes you feel rushed. You can tell she loves what she does, and it shows in the quality of care. The entire team at A-B-See Vision Care is friendly, welcoming, and professional, making every visit a great experience from start to finish. If you're looking for an eye doctor who combines expertise with genuine compassion, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Lisa Porter and A-B-See Vision Care. They've earned my family's trust for years and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
I had an excellent experience with A-B-See Vision! The entire team is fast, friendly, and genuinely courteous. They’ve taken great care of me through everything from routine eye exams and cataract surgery to helping me manage my dry eye. The doctors and staff are highly knowledgeable and stay up to date with the latest technology, which gave me complete confidence in my care. They truly take the time to find the best treatment for each patient. I highly recommend A-B-See Vision to anyone looking for professional, compassionate eye care.
My experience with A-B-See Vision Care was mixed. The office itself is wonderful. The lobby is open, clean, relaxing, and welcoming. Check-in was easy, and I was called back for my appointment quickly. Unfortunately, the actual appointment was much more challenging. My regular doctor was out that day, so I saw a different provider. Throughout the exam, I felt rushed. The doctor spoke very quickly and used terms such as bifocals, trifocals, and distance lenses without explaining what they meant in a way I could understand. Since I had never worn bifocals before, I was already unfamiliar with the terminology. I explained that my primary concern was not reading books but working at a computer 8–10 hours a day for my desk job. Despite trying to clarify my needs, I left the appointment confused about what was being recommended and why. When I returned a few weeks later with my husband to order glasses, a different staff member helped me. She explained that the doctor had recommended trifocals, which surprised me because I had believed I had already expressed that I did not want them. As we discussed options, the explanations of "distance vision" seemed to change depending on the conversation. One explanation made it sound like distance vision was only to the end of my fingertips, while another described it as looking beyond my computer monitors. The inconsistent explanations left me even more confused. At that point, I became overwhelmed and anxious and ultimately left without ordering glasses for a second time. A few days later, I sent an email explaining my confusion and requesting copies of both the single-vision and trifocal prescriptions so I could do some research and make an informed decision. Unfortunately, that email has gone unanswered for about four weeks. The reason I'm leaving this review is not because anyone was rude—they were all polite and professional. My frustration comes from feeling that the information was not explained in a way that I could understand as a patient who is not familiar with eye care terminology. I needed someone to slow down, explain my options clearly, and help me understand how each lens type would affect my day-to-day computer work. I still need new glasses and will likely return because the office itself is pleasant and conveniently located. I am hopeful that my next visit will involve more patient-centered communication and a clearer explanation of my options. **REVIEW UPDATE** I recently received a phone call from A-B-See Vision Care regarding my experience and the concerns I raised in my original review. The representative I spoke with was very kind, professional, and genuinely apologetic about the issues I encountered. During our conversation, we discussed the communication challenges I experienced. While I had initially included the lack of email responses as a negative point, I want to clarify that I understand technology is not always perfect. Emails occasionally fail to reach their destination, and while it's certainly frustrating when that happens, I recognize that these situations can occur. Most importantly, they took the time to listen to my concerns and work toward a solution. I was provided with the name of a lead staff member whom I can work with directly when I return to order the correct glasses, which gives me confidence that the process will go much more smoothly moving forward. I greatly appreciated the follow-up, the concern they showed, and their willingness to address the situation. Excellent customer service after the fact, and I am thankful they took the time to reach out.
