Dr.Jaffe provides quality eye care, don’t let the negative reviews scare you. I enjoyed the traditional ways and vintage style. I’ll be returning for eye care services.

Hear me out on this….. The level of care was fine (5 stars), but the whole experience was WEIRD. I felt uncomfortable the whole time. Making an appt was easy. However, be aware there is no text, call or email to remind you of your appt. So, if you’re someone who needs reminders (like me, who missed my appt), be aware. He is still requiring you to wear a mask. When I first arrived I was directed to sit in the chair. He then proceeded to take a piece of tape and put it on my face to cover the gap where the mask sits on the nose. As you can imagine that was not comfortable, nor was it expected as he never vocalized that he was going to do it. We went through my patient history. Keep in mind this business is not run as if it’s the 2020s. Everything is handwritten, and nothing appears to be kept in a computer. Of course this all takes extra time. (And you can’t use a credit card here either) All the equipment seems super outdated. The eye exam itself seemed to be VERY thorough. His face was literally ON my face…which in hindsight maybe for my sake I’m glad the mask was on. At one point, without any explanation he put yellow in color drops into my eyes. It burned. (This isn’t my first eye appt, and I had never experience this liquid in my eyes before). He then proceeded to put more drops (of another liquid) in my eyes and then dabbed out my eyes as if he was cleaning out the first yellow liquid. While he was doing this, drops were dripping down my face, under the tape that he had put on my face/mask. At the end, I went to the area where I expected to pick out new frames. He simply asked for my current glasses and wrote down the style so he could just order a new pair of the old frames. I didn’t want that, I wanted new frames. But due to the uncomfortable experience I didn’t care. I just wanted to get out of there. I’m not saying he is a bad eye doctor, I just want you to be aware you’re in for an interesting experience. You’ll get a thorough eye exam with no explanation of anything that is happening. There’s no small talk, just a lot of awkward silence. I will not be going back.
This place is awful. The doctor is even worse. His equipment is so outdated that the autorefractor kept slowly raising in its own and he kept telling me not to move. And when I stayed still, we told me I was moving again and to keep centered with it. Well, I'm not 7 foot tall, so fix your equipment. Also, Dr. Jaffe is very rude. He left my exam for a little over 5 minutes to schedule someone who walked in. And when I came to pick up my glasses, he kept me waiting 10 minutes while he updated his information through the state or whoever he was talking to. He has no one to answer phones or help while he sees patients? The worst part was, I couldn't see out either lense with the Rx sunglasses that I spent $200 on (with insurance). Took them back, he retested my eyes, and said the right eye was different than what he got he first time. So when my glasses arrived the second time, I could see out of the right side, but not the left. Now, he says he can't do anything about it and won't refund my money. Absolute waste of time, insurance for 2 years, and hard earned money for something I can't use. I do not recommend this place!!! It's also creepy that he touches his knees to yours during almost the whole exam. That's really not necessary to examine my eyes and made me feel pretty uncomfortable.
Do you hate technology? Do you love old things? Does the idea of not talking during an appointment excite you? Then this is the place for you! Dr. Jaffe’s office takes you back roughly 30 years. He doesn’t talk during his exams except to give instructions. You will have to wear a mask which you will appreciate as he gets so close to check your eyes you question if you will kiss. He is super thorough in his exam and will call the various insurance providers to make sure you are covered and answer any questions. 10/10 can’t wait for next year’s exam.
Excellent optometry practice. Dr. Jaffe is very knowledgeable and conducts a thorough exam. I've been going here for years for my yearly exam and updates to my glasses and contacts and have received nothing but great service that fits my schedule.
