The whole team at Dr. Grichine's office were great. Especially Sofia and Alhine. They both were so knowledgeable, helpful and kind! Dr. Grichine was great she explained to me so much about cataract surgery. I highly recommend this office. Thank you, Nancy

Dr. Grichine and her team are fantastic! Their professionalism and state of the art services cannot be beat. I strongly recommend Advanced Optometry of Mission Viejo!
On February 25th, my mom, who is a senior and new to the country, went to this office for her eye exam. She is not familiar with the system here and trusted the staff to guide her honestly. Instead, she was guided toward very expensive options without fully understanding what she was agreeing to. She was encouraged to choose high end frames and multiple add ons, and the total came to $1,232. She was asked to sign paperwork that was presented as a receipt, but it was actually a contract. She paid the full $1,232 using my credit card. Within 30 minutes of the purchase, I arrived and requested to cancel everything and receive a refund. This was not the next day or weeks later, it was immediately after. At that point, no glasses had been made, and she had not even been properly provided with her prescription. They refused to cancel. I later found the same frames online for around $210, and other optometry offices quoted significantly lower prices for similar services. My mom was also pushed into purchasing two separate pairs of glasses instead of being clearly guided through more practical and cost effective options. We disputed the charge with the credit card company, but because of the signed paperwork, the charge was not reversed. Today, April 1st, my mom went to pick up the glasses. She asked what would happen if the glasses were not working for her, and she was told that she would need to contact the provider who made the glasses, not the office. This makes no sense. How are we supposed to know who their provider is? At this point, my mom has the glasses, but she was essentially advised not to return to the office regarding any issues. Also, to this day, she has still not received her prescription. In my opinion, this experience felt like a scam targeting a senior who did not fully understand the process. I am sharing this so others are aware. Please be very careful, especially if you are bringing a senior family member. Make sure they fully understand what they are signing and the total cost before agreeing to anything. This was a very frustrating and disappointing experience.
I truly value Dr. Grichine; she is amazing, has incredible vibes, and really understands my needs. I was also very grateful that this practice accepted my insurance for my Meta glasses. However, the experience with the front desk/optometric technician has been consistently uncomfortable. I have visited three times, and each time I was made to feel "stupid" for asking basic questions. Rather than being helpful, the technician would give me a stare like I was a burden, which made me feel extremely unwelcome. Beyond the attitude, the technical service was disappointing. After waiting over a month for my Metas, they arrived and rested right on my cheeks (which the sample pair didn't do). When I raised this concern, the technician dismissively told me they are "universal frames" and offered no help. It feels like the measurements taken by the optician didn't matter. Now I have to buy my own nose bridge inserts to prevent the glasses from causing acne and skin irritations. I want to continue seeing Dr. Grichine, but the lack of kindness and technical support from the staff makes it very difficult to return.
excellent from start to finish, check in, initial review, eye test, doctor consult and then glasses chosen....great team work and nice customer experience across the 5 people that helped me feel comfortable today
