As always, my exam experience was great. The staff is efficient and professional. Every person who tested me introduced herself, was communicative, and guided me through each procedure. Dr. Gray, who diagnosed me a few years ago with an ocular problem, followed up with an exam and explanation that clarified my current situation. I very much appreciate the entire groups' professionalism.

I have been a patient at Aiken Ophthalmology for 7 years in North Augusta and Aiken It is by far outstanding in many ways. First the receptionists are welcoming. The technicians who perform each part of the .team process have been professional yet warm and engaging I have had the pleasure to see Dr. Gray and Dr. Regina Hanlin. I trust their professional counsel plus they are really nice people. The team responds to your needs. I had shingles on my face.and they took me immediately to determine whether it was in my eye. On a personal level i appreciate them so much. Lots of words to say, i would highly recommend this practice highly!
Aiken Ophthalmology is a very nice office. Everyone is so nice & helpful. You will get a thorough exam. They are very efficient in their work. Dr. Gray is very professional. He is very easy to understand with what is going on with your eyes. The doctors & staff are wonderful. Pam S.
I have been going to this office for a few years now. The staff are nice and no one has ever been rude to me. My glasses have always been correct. The reason for my poor review is due to a missed diagnosis that could have been caught, or at least suspected, by the two different eye doctors I’ve seen here. I had an appointment over a year ago for eye pain when moving my eye and was diagnosed with uveitis in my left eye. Recently, I went to the North Augusta office with an urgent appointment due to a blurry spot in the center of my left eye / double vision. It was completely disregarded by the tech and doctor. I was given a regular, routine eye exam and glasses prescription. The blurry vision resolved on its own after about 7 days (before my glasses even came in). The eye doctor never mentioned that it could be autoimmune or neurological, and did not refer me to investigate further. After numbness took over my left side within a few months of that appointment, MRIs and spinal tap revealed multiple sclerosis. 15-20% of MS patients present with the same eye related symptoms that I had. Typically striking women in their 30s and 40s. I would suggest to the physicians here to take the complaint of blurry central vision/ eye pain on movement (especially occurring more than one time on the same side) as a sign of something more than just needing glasses or a steroid eye drop. Especially in a female in my age range. I think I could have been diagnosed and treated sooner if I had been told this and referred to neurology. None of the people or physicians here mean any harm I’m sure, it’s just disheartening to know it was a big sign and it was missed and not taken seriously. Eye doctors have the ability to catch this early! Before anyone else will see it or think of it.
From my first visit to the AIKEN OPHTHALMOLOGY I felt extatic from the politeness and outstanding professionalism one instantly feels upon entering that clinic. Everyone welcomes you with a grand smile and immediately assists you in the kindest way. This clinic's medical staff has great experience and is extremely meticulous, and one more thing; "they never lose their humanity while conducting their job, they are still kind, polite and humorous"! Great Atribute. Then we have Dr. Gray... where words cannot fully describe the caliber of his medical expertise. I reckon that all the doctors ought to be great in that Ophthalmological clinic, otherwise, they wouldn't have been together. But my experience was with Dr. Matthew Gray. He saved my sight. I don't know if what he did was a medical routine and discovered my condition. What I do know is that had he not taken that extra step or two and guided me with urgency to take certain vital tests, I would have literally been blind now/today! He, Dr. Matthew Gray, is such a dedicated scientist. He loves his craft and is definitely one of those doctors that anyone can wholeheartedly and genuinely trust. Thank you Lord for putting Dr. Gray in my path to save my sight! Thank you both for working on me SUCCESSFULLY. God's speed to all of you at Aiken Ophthalmology you're doing exceptional medical work! With endless appreciation and respect, George Sotiropoulos
