I've been using AB for a while. However today wasn't a good experience. Matter of fact the individual who "helped" me and whomever she was speaking with in the back, did nothing to help me. Here's my situation. I only go to the eye doctor every two years. Well my last one was 2024 so it's time, however. This year I turned 65.So my husband and I dropped the outrageously expensive insurance plan we had at his job and both a went on BcBs Medicare advantage of Alabama. Now here's what happened today. I went into AB and explained I sat on my glasses and bent the frame. I needed them repaired because they were catiwampus on my face. She took them to the counter behind her. And what ya know. Couldn't fix them she said because the screw was stripped out. Okay here's where is became a "you've got to be kidding" moment. She said we have to see you first before they can be repaired. Okay, do y'all take Medicare advantage? Amh no. So I can't make an appointment with y'all, my glasses are unwearable because you took them apart and can't get the screw out,so now they're unwearable. "Sorry". It's policy !! I said is there someway you can bend the rules? I am a patient and your gonna send me outta here with no glasses. I can't walk without them much less drive. I am blind without them ma'am. Thank God my husband was with me. I remembered I did have a old pair in my purse. So we brought those out. Those too needed repair because the screw fell out of them and we looped a wire in the hole to hold them together. I asked if there was a supervisor or manager I could run this by and see if they might help me. She went into a room were the exam rooms are stayed in there for a moment with my old pair. Came back out and said they couldn't repair those either. Id have to make an appointment. I looked her with my mouth open. So you want help me and are really going to send me out of here with 2 broken pairs of glasses. I have worn glasses since I was 8 years old. In all the years I've been seeing the eye doctor and getting glasses, this a first. The thing that really steamed me is the lack of empathy and caring. Glad I am done with them. I work in medicine. The one thing we do is make sure our patients have what they need. I would never allow a patient to walk out in this type of situation and quote it's policy! Mainly because it was dangerous. If my husband hadn't been with me and I could not have reached him, and not had that old pair with me and wrecked on the home or had some kinda accident walking back to my car, they would be in a prime position for being sued regardless of policy. It was negligent not to mention that little lady has made it clear, SHES NOW A LIABILITY to the company for not doing nothing and so is whomever was in the back room saying the same thing. Both pairs of glasses came from AB. Including my computer glasses they couldn't fix because they didn't have the parts, the grips for your nose fell out of them. Shoddy work on their part. So the moral of this story is DONT USE AN EYE DOCTOR who shares a lease with a 24 gym and nail salon. This is the worst customer service I've ever had. Actually it's the only one, other Walmart. I don't go there either anymore.

I had a great experience with America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses. The technicians, Srija and Nikki, were incredibly knowledgeable about the durability and craftsmanship of the lenses. They took the time to clearly explain my options and the benefits of each, which made the decision process much easier. I also appreciated their patience while I chose my frames—they were encouraging and supportive, allowing me to take my time and find something I was truly comfortable with. Their excellent customer service is a big reason I would recommend this location to family and friends. Additionally, Dr. Esther Karanja was very personable and made the overall experience even more pleasant.
Normally a 5 star visit. Today I called and made an appointment. Arrived 10mins early and for five minutes I stood there unacknowledged, so I sat down and went another 5 minutes without being acknowledged. Plenty of eye contact, just no acknowledgment. There was one family being helped. Another customer off to herself looking at glasses and me. 10:00am on a Monday. The receptionist who booked my appointment never spoke. The woman assisting the family never spoke. The doctor and another woman came from the back, they ignored me also. But I don’t blame them, should’ve been acknowledge way before they came out. I stand up, walk to my car, leave and contact corporate. Not my normal experience at this location.
Tiara is like a best friend. She had so much patience with me when I was putting in contacts for the first time. She is very encouraging and supportive and an amazing teacher. Loved it!!!
I loved my first visit, every one was kind and helpful and it was quick I was in and out. My second visit… not so much. The first lady was kind and approachable but not very knowledgeable and the other lady didn’t seem interested in helping me. I made sure to go there a specific day to get the doctor to help me since it was my first time with contacts but nope. No help, then when explaining something it was very rude and off putting. Don’t think I will be ever returning after this experience.
