DO NOT use insurance at America's Best if you're on VSP... I went to America's Best 2 years ago and didn't claim my insurance. I had an eye exam and received two pairs of nice glasses for around $100 out the door.... I was very happy which was why I came back . I had broken my glasses recently , so I was trying to just order a new pair online with expedited shipping.. the total cost was $102... but my order was cancelled because my prescription was expired so I scheduled an exam. Today was my exam. I elected to use my insurance... I was not allowed to revoke the use of my insurance even as I balked at the price (for the exact same glasses I was ordering online) of $124 for ONE pair of glasses and the exam... I did not order any extra lense modifications..no frills... Yet it cost me more for much less than it did without claiming my insurance.. usually my insurance will cover up to $150 for frames and 100% of the exam.. My glasses and exam should have been 100% covered with the option to purchase a second pair with a 40% discount. America's Best is an excellent place to get eye care... Just don't use your insurance if you have VSP... And if you tell them you have insurance and realize that you're not getting any better deal than you could at the high end optometrists like Bay Eye Care or Anderson Eye... They won't let you walk it back and choose to go for the BOGO deal with the exam included for $99 instead of applying an insurance claim.. I'm beyond frustrated that I used my insurance and ended up with a worse deal .. I really wanted the BOGO for $99.. Insurance is such a scam...

Always have a great experience with everyone here during my exams and even when I call in to ask questions. They go above and beyond to help me to make sure I get what my eyes need.
Jojo at America’s Best in Bay City is the real MVP! Super helpful, professional, and hilarious. Found me the perfect frames and made the whole process actually fun. 10/10 recommend!
I have had the most disappointing experience of my life at this location. After being texted that my glasses were ready, again, for pickup because they screwed up my prescription so badly the first time, my prescription is STILL wrong. I tried on the new glasses and told them it was an improvement over the first prescription, but something was still off. I was getting nauseous. The girl that was helping me was nice enough, but told me point blank that I had to take them home and “give them an honest shot” over the weekend. Then, an associate who wasn’t helping me and across the store, loudly started talking at me that it is 6pm at night, I have to take the new glasses home and wear them all weekend to see if I can adjust. I couldn’t even make it the five minute drive to my house without feeling woozy with the new glasses. I’m frustrated that my prescription is still not right, and even more frustrated that I was treated the way I was when I expressed that something wasn’t right. So here I am, wearing my old glasses after shelling out of pocket for new glasses that make me sick because I was given no other solution. I will be returning to the store tomorrow to return the bs glasses I was sold and demanding a full refund. Never again will I go to America’s Best. You’re better off walking around half blind than the hassle of going to this place.
First time patient today after not getting my eyes checked in 2 years. Not only did they work with my budget they were all so friendly and welcoming!! The exam and wait time was quick. I have insurance (which isn't amazing), but most places are double the cost of what my insurance can cover and I end up having to pay $200+ for 1 pair. Today, I got 2 pairs with blue light, anti glare, and scratch resistance coatings for $157. You can't get better deals and care anywhere else!!! The facility is clean, spacious, and bright. There are loads of affordable frames in lots of styles. There are a few designer choices but they carry really great quality non-name brand frames that are super affordable. Its not the frame that matters but the actual lenses that you NEED, so to get what I was looking for all in my budget and I have 2 glasses in 2 really nice styles is a huge win!!! I will continue to come here and I urge anyone looking for glasses to come here too.
