My experience at America's best in Buffalo NY was wonderful. The staff was very pleasant but I would recommend you ask for Dylan Bush he is truly an amazing professional assistant manager. He works out of the Delaware office in Buffalo NY. He is not only professional he goes over and above the call of duty to please all his clients . He made the experience joyful and very easy . Thanks once again Dylan .

The day of my appointment I was scheduled for 11:10 A.M. but had to wait atleast a half hour past my appointment time. Waiting room chairs are not comfortable. The receptionist told me when I walked in that my insurance covers $130 towards glasses and $130 towards contact lenses. I looked at her in excitement, and said really? :D .... she said yes! I had a pleasant experience with both women that did my exams. The assistant (I believe) and the doctor were both professional and informative. I spent much time picking out glasses, just to sit down with the person checking me out who informed me I only get $130 towards either glasses or contact lenses. I asked her why the lady at reception desk told me both. She said she doesn't know. Ummm okay? So I could only afford to leave with the contacts. It was very disappointing and I felt mislead. I ordered the contacts because I needed them but I'm really not sure I'll be returning. I was told they are no payment plan options available "yet".... I said "yet?" The woman said yep.... Fast forward WEEKS later, still no call about my contacts? I finally called today to check the status of my contacts order, and I was told "We are usually great at this".... really? I expressed my inconsistent experience at this location. You're dealing with clientele that cannot see properly. You shouldn't allow orders to sit there for weeks. I know mistakes happen, but the entire experience from beginning to end was not good. Will pick up my order and not be returning.
Very friendly, efficient and helpful staff today! Upon entering I was acknowledged in about 10 second and notified someone would be right with me. All staff were in a great mood and very helpful with everyone today
Honestly, I’ve been to many different optometrist offices over the past 14 years, and none of them have ever made me feel as at home as America’s Best on Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, NY. The technician, Celeste, was amazing. It was unfortunate that some people gave her a hard time during my visit because she truly was the sweetest soul and handled everything with patience and professionalism. Dr. Salman was also incredible — she explained my vision very thoroughly and helped me understand what was actually going on with my eyes after so many doctors didn’t fully acknowledge my astigmatism or my accommodating spasms. Some even told me to “try and see” what I couldn’t see. Dr.Salman helped provide some insight, I finally felt heard and taken seriously. When it came time to choose frames, they had a wide selection, including name brands like MK, polo, etc at reasonable prices in my opinion. My insurance covered my exam and gave me an $80 allowance. I found a cute pair (off brand) priced at $88 and only paid $8 out of pocket. I was also able to donate toward glasses for homeless kids in need, which made the visit even more meaningful. They also offer 40% off a second pair within 30 days which is perfect because I was torn between two frames. Amanda, the store associate, measured my pupil distance and helped me pick out my frames. I couldn’t decide between two pairs, but she made me feel confident in both choices. We even asked another associate, Ariellys (I hope I’m spelling that right), and since we have similar hair types and color her input really helped too. Another customer and her daughter chimed in with their opinion, and together we finally chose a pair. I walked out feeling beautiful and confident — something I haven’t felt in a long time. They told me by 2/23/26 my visit was 2/10/26. I will be back for a final review.
First of all, I’d like to note that the staff is absolutely wonderful. They are very kind and treated me with respect as a human. The general manager, Vicky Edwards, is the only reason I believe this location deserves a one star rating. Under new insurance, I went to America’s best to get an updated script to get new contacts and glasses. Again, the staff and the eye doctor were lovely. I get a trial set of contacts, come back a week later to have the follow up on the trial set which resulted in an updated script. Since they did not have my new script in stock, I was told I would **receive a text message** when they came in. After about a week+, I was in the area and physically stopped into the store asking if the trials came in. I hadn’t received a text and wanted to make sure I didn’t misunderstand the information I was originally given. In store, I was told the contacts were not there yet and I would **receive a text message** when the contacts came in. Fast forward two months of waiting for this text message, I call the store to see what is going on. This lead to me going into the store to talk to a staff member in person. Said staff member informed me the contacts were sent back. To figure out what was going on, they recommended we involve the manager, Vicky. The staff member explained to Vicky what happened and Vicky immediately responded with the fact I would need a new eye exam. I was completely stunned. She almost immediately followed with, “if you were an eye club member you wouldn’t have to pay anything.” Again, I was stunned. She did not entertain hearing what was going on, she immediately looked at me like a sucker she could milk for more money. While I accept some accountability around my untimeliness, I do fundamentally believe I was mislead. Not only did I not receive a text, I did not receive a call. Yet I was told MULTIPLE times, I would receive a text… ok. Vicky, who did not even step away for a singular moment to consult with the eye doctor, told me I’m required to have a new eye exam since so much time has passed. Completely dumbfounded, I challenged the fact I needed a new exam, let alone had to **pay the full price** for another exam because I trusted that they would honor their commitment to contact me when my trial contacts came in. Vicky said she’d give me a 50% discount. In disbelief of the situation, I just agreed to allow me time to research and see if I was in the wrong before I threw a huge stink. I come back the next day for my appointment, I shared with the eye doctor what happened and they did not see the medical need for me to have a new exam. They reordered my contacts. A few days later, I receive a **phone call** informing me my contacts were ready for pickup. Vicky, the way you didn’t even attempt to see me as a human is the reason I am rating your location poorly. Per your company’s website, “ From store operations and training to our labs and distribution systems, we’re working to ensure that no one who shops at America’s Best overpays”…yet you made it a priority to milk me for more money without even taking a minute to investigate what happened. I hope you reflect and I hope this review results in some corrective action because your leadership is clearly not aligned to the business values. To the doctor and staff, thank you for showing me kindness and respect throughout this entire process. If I removed my experience with Vicky out of my assessment, I would provide this location with 5 stars.
