America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I wanted to take a moment to share my experience because it was such a positive one. From the moment I walked in, everyone in the office was friendly, welcoming, and professional. During my pre-exam, the young man, I think his name was Alex or Alexi but he was very kind, patient, and understanding. He explained everything clearly, made me feel comfortable, and the whole process was smooth. You could tell he and the whole store genuinely cares about the patients. The doctor and the rest of the staff were super wonderful. Overall, it was a great experience.

Everything here was on point. My Mom came to her appointment and everything was like clockwork. Everyone was so nice and professional. She made it a point for me to leave a review and mention the folks that helped so graciously. Mercy, Amy, Rachel, and Jasmine were absolutely amazing. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I’ve been a customer here for years and the staff is different every year I come for my eye exam. This time around everyone was great except for the girl that I sat with to order contacts with - I didn’t catch any names, she’s an African American female that shouldn’t be working with customers. Upon sitting down, she did say hi and then talking about my prescription I Mentioned that the doctor said she was going to offer me a trial pair and then I could order more if I liked them. She then sarcastically said “I don’t see why a trial is needed when the prescription isn’t too far off from your previous one” ummm, I don’t know lady, I’m not THE DOCTOR!!! She made me feel SO uncomfortable that I finally said What’s it gonna cost for me to buy contacts? At that point I was just ready to get out of there and I wasn’t even going to even ask further about the trial pair that was offered to me by the doctor - even though I’ve been a loyal customer to Americas Best for years. I guess that means nothing nowadays. After asking her what the price would be, she started typing for a while and must’ve been having computer issues because she was moaning and complaining under her breath. I sat there very uncomfortable and kept trying to look up my phone to pass the time. I should never have to feel like that as a customer. That’s when another employee came over and the rude one was basically telling her something about the system acting up “again…” This entire time I was never spoken to or explained anything. I just sat there awkwardly waiting for a price. After about what seemed to be like 10 minutes, the other employee took over and the nonchalant employee walked away without saying anything to me to help someone that was looking at glasses. I finally got the price of the contacts (no trial EVER being offered) and I paid and went about my way. After paying, I realize I was never given the option to have the contacts shipped to my house. They said the contact should be shipped to their office in about 10 days. Anyone that knows where this location in, Know how hard it is to get in and out… Why would I want to pick up my contacts here? Kinda messed up that I wasn’t even given the option for them to be mailed to my house. But then again, the lady I dealt with was just going through the motions and doesn’t care about the customers that sit in front of her and pay her hourly wage.To be honest, with the way that this place is operating with “on screen” doctors and a rude employee to finish off the transaction, I will probably be looking for a new place to get my yearly exams and contacts. Just a shame because the two assistants that I dealt with in the two back rooms were fantastic and very friendly and made the experience of using the new equipment so painless. Shout out to the doctors assistant from Rochester! I’ve never met such a more down to earth and all around nice healthcare employee. People like her make mundane appointments like these so much easier. And people like the lady that helped me towards the end, Will be what ruins your business!

Horrible experience at my appointment. Had to wait hours for a 3 minute virtual appointment. About 50 minutes in I was told 20-30 minutes longer. The manager then told me nobody ever told me that and that I got a call saying appointments can take up to 90 minutes long. Once she realized they in fact did not call me she doubled down and continued to be rude. I had to cancel plans and was late feeding dinner to my kids because of their incompetence. It’s definitely my last time being a customer.

Currently sitting in the waiting area for over 45 minutes after my initial eye assessment. The guy who did that was nice. And I was brought in to see him fairly quickly. No complaints there. Now I think I’m waiting to see a virtual optometrist, but I’m not sure. No one has told me what’s going on. People who work here walk by now and then, but who knows. There is no reason I should be waiting this long. It’s not like it’s busy here. Terrible operation. Not surprised after learning the eventual appointment is virtual. Still, you’d think they’d have plenty of virtual optometrists ready somewhere. Waiting an hour to see one is ridiculous. Don’t come here. Edit: turns out I was just waiting almost an hour to get into the room with the tech who assists the virtual doctor. Then another now 25 minutes to wait for a doctor to “give” the exam (the tech does most of the work). Staff is nice. The system is a disaster. This place is obviously run as a corporate boiler room setup. Too many locations serviced by too few doctors. Awful service. I’m over an hour and a half in and haven’t even started my main exam. Again, go somewhere else.
