When I arrived at America’s Best I was cordially greeted by a gentleman named Joshua. I was on the fence about glasses but had pre-scheduled an appointment on line for contacts. I was happy to see Dr Thanh Yang was there since I have been going to him for a number of years. Dr Yang took his time with me and addressesd my vision changes since my last visit and made me very comfortable by explaining my options. He is a GREAT Doctor and appreciate seeing him again. Before I left, I explained to Joshua my delimma over buying glasses as my health insurance covers included the eye exam and $95 off my order for glasses and progressive lenses. Joshua took the time to review the numbers since the package offer getting two pair of glasses with progressive lenses was out of my budget. Not only did I find a pair I really liked with the progressive lenses I also was able to add the 3 year eye club below the price from Kaiser Eye Center’s price. I did not plan on getting glasses but it made sense after Joshua did such a thorough job explaining everything. He was very pleasant, extemely knowledgable and had a great smile. I am elated with my choices and so happy to be continuing with America’s Best. Thank you for you wonderful service! Your employees are your greatest asset! They have out dated practices. Modern eye Drs don't do the puff of air into the eye. My daughter with sensory issues to her eyes never does this test. This place refuses to do an eye exam without doing it. Every place we have been to says that test is outdated and not used anymore. On top of it the store is an absolute mess. Glasses were all over the counters and the staff seemed clueless about their products. We left without seeing the Dr . We came here for the 2 glasses deal but Id prefer to stick with updated medicine
The eye doctor was excellent—professional, knowledgeable, and made my appointment a great experience. Unfortunately, the customer service afterward completely changed how we felt about our visit. The young Hispanic woman helping me check out and order my new lenses (I believe her name was Jaylin) was kind, patient, and doing her best to assist us. When she needed help with the computer system, another African American male employee and an African American female employee responded to her in an incredibly rude, disrespectful, and demeaning manner right in front of us. My fiancé, who is also Hispanic, and I were immediately uncomfortable and honestly shocked by how unprofessional the interaction was. No employee deserves to be spoken to that way, especially in front of customers. Before we left, we made sure to speak up because we couldn't believe what we had just witnessed. From our perspective, it came across as workplace bullying. We don't know why she was treated that way, and we can't speak to anyone's motives, but the behavior we witnessed was unacceptable regardless of the reason. Management should seriously look into how employees are treating one another because it reflected very poorly on the store. Jaylin remained courteous, professional, and respectful despite being spoken to so poorly. She handled herself with grace, and she deserves recognition for that. We left feeling genuinely upset for her. It was one of the most uncomfortable customer service experiences we've ever had, and it's something we won't forget. We sincerely hope management addresses this behavior so no employee has to endure that kind of treatment again.
My teenage daughter went in for a scheduled eye exam. Other than the greeting from the individual recording our insurance info, there was no engagement with us parents. The omtometrist didn’t even invite us into the the exam room. After the exam, we stood around for 30 mins while no one engaged with us in any way. Not a word. As rice employees were visually not busy. I was extremely frustrated with the lack of care or concern from the staff.
This 4 stars is for the manager Joshua he truly turned my experience around, if any issues do happen to occur trust that he will solve them and leave you a satisfied patient. That man truly deserves the biggest raise, if not for his problem solving my review would have 3 stars less. He is genuinely the best and truly understands patient care.
