America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

I’ve been a patient here for about two years and never had any issues until recently. During my last yearly eye exam, I was surprised to find that my doctor wasn’t in person and instead conducted the appointment over Zoom, which made me uncomfortable. I was told my glasses would be ready on the 20th, but they weren’t available until the 23rd. When I finally received them, my vision was very blurry. I gave it about two weeks, assuming my eyes just needed time to adjust, but the problem didn’t improve. It turns out the prescription I received from the virtual exam was incorrect, and I had to schedule another appointment to see a doctor in person. Overall, this experience was frustrating and inconvenient, especially after having no prior issues.

In December 2024, I came in for an eye exam. I was interested in getting glasses and contacts and was charged a fee for both. After my exam, I was set up for putting contacts in. I was told I had to insert them and take them out 3 times which is fine because its protocol. What is upsetting is the guy working there gave up on me because I was struggling to get them in and told me verbatim “well I just talked to the optometrist and your eyes are too small for contacts actually”. It made zero sense because why would the optometrist not bring that up before hand? When I complained to someone else about this, I was never refunded for the contact exam and was told that they cannot do refunds. Fast forward to May 2026. I have an eye exam at another place that is NOT Americas best. For both glasses & contacts. I told the optometrist about how I was told that my eyes were “too small for contacts” that an America’s best employee had told me a little over a year ago and she said that’s ridiculous. Had my contact class at the new place and guess what happened? I got the contact lense on my eyeball & the lady helping me was significantly better at instructions than the guy who was working at the Short Pump America’s & doing the contact lessons at best in December 2024. I wasn’t even going to write a review until I sat down and successfully got a contact lense in my eye, which I was told couldn’t be done by an employee at this location

Short Pump store is fantastic! Jacoyia and Lexi were absolutely wonderful & went out of their way to take great care of me. Super helpful & patient with explaining everything to me & I really appreciate that there are still great people who actually care out there. Everyone at this store provided excellent care at every step & I couldn't be more grateful. Super easy process for my eye exam for contacts, ordering my lenses & great pricing.Being a member of the eye care club is such a great value!

I came in with a pair of glasses that needed some serious help, and she handled the situation with total expertise and a great attitude. ​Lexi was incredibly patient and took the time to make sure the fit was exactly right. It’s rare to find someone who combines such technical skill with genuine, friendly customer service.

I lost my glasses over the weekend, From the beginning of my appointment Lexi was very helpful and knowledgeable in the things I had questions about. She is such an awesome asset to the store and you all are very lucky to have her !!
