I had a very frustrating experience at America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses on Burgess Road. I called ahead two days before my appointment to ask a simple question: Can I still come in for my eye exam if I have a stye? The front desk clearly told me yes, that it would be fine to proceed with testing. Based on that, I took time off work and showed up for my appointment. They went ahead and started the testing process, but when it came time for the doctor to complete the exam, I was suddenly told they could not finish because my eye was irritated. What made this worse was the response I got when I explained I had already called and confirmed beforehand. I was basically told, “I don’t know what they told you at the front desk.” That kind of disconnect is unacceptable. If your staff is giving out information that directly affects whether someone should even show up, there needs to be clear communication. I completely understand medical limitations—but don’t tell patients it’s okay to come in, start the process, and then turn them away after they’ve already taken time off work. This felt like a waste of my time and could have easily been avoided with better communication between staff. The Dr. got triggered as soon as I started to explain that I had called two days prior the appointment to ask if it was ok, started giving me an attitude did not even care for what I was saying. So if you have a stye and wonder if you can be seen the answer is “No”. Even if the front desk tells you its ok 👍🏼

I had an appointment scheduled for 12:30 pm. I get there at 12:25, and it takes them like 10-15 minutes to check me in because the gentleman at the front desk didn’t seem to know how to complete insurance and registration by himself. After we get that situated, the same gentleman takes me back for testing and we get all of it done very timely. I’m put back in the waiting room around 12:50 pm and told I just have to wait a short bit before the doctor is ready for me. I ended up waiting for almost 2 hours in that waiting room, and TWO PEOPLE were seen before me who had been waiting even longer than me. I finally get taken into the doctors room around 2:30 pm, and the doctor spends maybe 10 minutes with me and then I’m sent out to the sales team. The sales girl, Nayeli was absolutely radiant and wonderful at her job, and even the gentleman who helped me (I think his name is Kevin or Kelvin?) was super friendly and polite. Ended up leaving around 3:30 after ordering glasses, and was very frustrated at how long I had been there. Overall, I won’t ever get another exam here again but definitely will most likely purchase glasses from them because they’re decent quality and good price.
First let me say I am terrified of the eye doctor but Dr.Patel very kind and explained to me the eye perception I needed in a way I could understand. Khris was very professional and helpful when it came time to select my glasses and guiding me on prices. The boy who did my pre-test (forgot his name) was very polite and helped me with insurance questions as well. I’m excited to get my glasses and contacts
Scheduled an appt for 5:20, checked in at 5:05 and browsed around for my glasses so I would have an idea of what I wanted while I waited for my appt! I left at 7pm without getting my exam! This is unacceptable, I wasted two hours for nothing! This company needs to not allow appointments to be made if there isn’t enough staff to keep up with the demand. There was also only one retail worker (who I think was new), I noticed she was with one customer for over an hour checking them out! I left at 7 (when they close) because I knew it would be 8 or 9pm before I would be checked out! There was a 5:30 appt that was waiting to be seen after me as well! To America’s Best, please have a cut off for appointments or hire some more staff because I have never experienced something like that before!
Got a pair of glasses from America best frames broke on first pair while under warranty. Replaced in May 2025 with second pair. Second pair has already broke. Have to glue frames to keep lenses in frames. $285.00 for glasses and they are junk. Prescription lenses. 2 pairs both broke.
