If I could give zero stars, I would. My visit to this eye doctor was not just disappointing—it was infuriating. From the moment I walked in, the staff were rude, unprofessional, and shockingly unhelpful. There was no warmth, no courtesy, and absolutely no effort to make me feel like a valued patient. Instead, I was treated like an inconvenience. The doctor themselves? Just as bad. Condescending, dismissive, and entirely uninterested in addressing my concerns. I left upset, confused and a deep sense of regret for ever booking the appointment. Save yourself the frustration. There are plenty of competent, respectful eye care professionals in Anderson —this place is not one of them.

My experience with Anderson Ophthalmology PC, particularly with Dr. Boris Ilg and his staff, was deeply upsetting and unprofessional. The day before my mother’s appointment, our HOA board helped by providing my name and credit card information so the balance could be paid, allowing her to order the glasses she urgently needed. We were assured everything was in place. However, on the day of the appointment, Jennifer from the office refused to process the card without a clear explanation. I called multiple times trying to resolve the issue, but she repeatedly hung up on me and claimed there was no record of my name or the payment—even though they never asked us to fill out any paperwork to begin with. Despite the HOA’s effort to help add my information, it was ignored. When I tried to explain the situation, Dr. Ilg got on the phone and began shouting at me, without even attempting to understand what happened. His behavior was incredibly rude and aggressive. Instead of taking any responsibility for the office’s poor communication and handling, he abruptly dismissed my mother as a patient. I've never experienced such unprofessional and disrespectful behavior from a medical office. No one deserves to be treated this way—especially not a patient in need of care. This situation was mishandled from start to finish, and their refusal to own their mistake shows a complete lack of accountability and compassion. I hope others will read this and think twice before trusting their loved ones to this practice.

Worst establishment of health I’ve ever experienced. Made an appointment, showed up to be told they put in the wrong date and it was actually for tomorrow. Said since my eye was scratched I still could be seen. Waited an hour and half in the waiting room until it was completely empty. Got in a room waited another 45 minutes, the nurse had an attitude like she didn’t even want me there. I ended getting so frustrated to where I just walked out without never being seen. Hope I keep my eye.

I have been a patient with Dr. Mattison and now, Dr.Ilg ... both fantastic doctors that care very much about their patients. The staff are kind and caring. The optical shop has a large selection of frames and 2 ladies that will patiently help you find the right pair of glasses. Highly recommend!!
