We had such a great experience with Ankeny Family Vision Center. First time having to get glasses for one of my children. We were immediately greeted and assisted. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. They were so wonderful and we plan to continue taking our business here!!

Absolutely strange and very odd doctor. All they care about is money. She's extremely condescending and talks to you like your are a child. I didn't even need an exam as I just had one in November but since new insurance and needed new glasses decided to just do it and get new glasses. She wanted to do a medical exam instead of just eye insurance. No reason at all. I have no medical issues and had a full medical eye exam in November 2025. Didn't care. Did the exam and I go to check out and get lenses and they DENY me glasses. I said a certain brand works best for me and they said they don't carry it and because it seems I'm sensitive to certain brands they are afraid theirs won't work and they would have to redo. Meaning lost money for them. When I went to check out they just charged me eye exam copay. I said. What about glasses? "Oh I don't think we knew you wanted any". Omg why else am I there?????????? Strangest place I've ever been and left bawling. And my lenses are a premium expense brand yet they don't care. People! Stand strong and stand for your own personal health. If you know what works for you don't waiver. Stand up for yourself! You know what is best for you and I knew within 5 seconds that condescending money hungry doctor was NOT for me. So I gave my business to a very nice business same day. I wish I could get my 10 dollars back. Seriously the oddest experience to just get glasses. Don't let them talk you into a medical exam when it's not needed. Seems it's all about money there. Still gives me the heebee jeebies how weird of an experience it was.
Ankeny Family Vision Center is wonderful! From the moment you walk in, the staff make you feel welcome and cared for. They are professional, friendly, and go above and beyond to make sure your eye care experience is smooth and comfortable. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for expert, personable care—you won’t be disappointed!
I love all of the Doctors and staff at the Ankeny Family Vision. Everyone is so kind, competent, and accomodating. The office is warm and inviting. All of your needs are met with excellence. I highly recommend this vision clinic to all of my family and friends. I look forward to my visit next year.
Today I walked in to Ankeny Family Vision to find glasses. It was not busy at that time. After about 5 minutes I walked out and plan to never return. There are so many frames in this place that it is overwhelming when it’s your first time in. The sales person seemed to prefer me just walking aimlessly around as opposed to helping me actually pick something out. You get one chance to make a first impression. I was really hoping to get new frames today. Sad it didn’t work out.
