The rating is brought down by communication issues and one specific provider. The rest of the rating is brought up by the staff who helped me when I had a medical issue in the facility. First off, Dr Kogos does not listen to his patients. Why do you need approval from another primary to decide something is wrong with a patient? You are also a primary doctor. If a patient says they’re having symptoms, one would think you would acknowledge everything that can be so as long as there is reason to. I had been prematurely cleared for work before I went to advantage care, and my quality of life suffered when I tried to return to normal anctivity and I was unsure why. Due to my circumstances, he told me he found my symptoms hard to believe alongside being cleared for work under my aforementioned circumstances hard to believe. I begged him to check my head. My vitals changed due to the condition of my head and the surrounding tissue, but instead of putting in a scan for my head this was also apparently hard to believe. At the very least I got some referrals, but if you were going to get me scans any way it should have been in the head area, because that’s where my issue was. The scans he ordered would not have caught my tumor (not a brain tumor though, thank goodness) that had been causing extra pain from returning to work and bringing down my quality of life, causing the worst pain of my life. Lenox Hill radiology is right there, if he had gotten me the proper scans sooner I’m sure the whole ordeal would have been over earlier because they would have caught something the same day. It’s not that hard to believe a patient instead of literally speed walking away from them after telling them they do not need their head checked. That felt equal parts disappointing and irresponsible. There seems to be a lack of communication regarding scheduling and copays, but in a large facility that might be a given. I found another practice afterwards, so this did not make or break anything for me. Just cost me a bit extra until my insurance refunded me partial cost for my primary appointment. I added stars because of what happened after my appointment. I had unfortunately had a fall in the hallway (that had been happening prior and I had showed up without assistance, that was on me). Medical staff responded very quickly and kindly, seemed to be very on top of things. I don’t know the names of those who helped, but I am thankful. They made an embarrassing and uncomfortable situation more bearable and gave me food and drink in case this was a blood sugar issue. If my provider was as responsive as the staff who helped me in the hallway, I would have not changed practices. My issue was dealt with outside of this practice due to one of the worst appointments I’ve ever had. But there are still good staff working there.

My dad had appt on 3/16/2026 at 10:15am but we arrived like 15 minutes late due to the rain and coming from NJ. When I speak to the receptionist she tells me that my father can't be seen now, he will have to wait until the end of the day or get seen by a PA in another section. The receptionist was so beyond rude that she just snapped a "no" when I asked why my dad can't be seen. We come to this office all the time, always arrive on time and WAIT 2 HOURS FOR THE DOCTOR!!! And never complain but the one time we are late---we can't be seen!! THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. THE RECEPTIONIST WAS MISERABLE AND DISRESPECTFUL!!! Dr Zhang should be ashamed of herself for allowing this to happen to patients!!!! YOU DOUBLE BOOK AND ALWAYS KEEP PATIENTS WAITING BUT TREAT THEM LIKE GARBAGE IF THEY ARE LATE!!!! N THE RULE IS TO WAIT FOR 30 MINUTES AND WE WERE ONLY 15 MINUTES LATE!!!
I recently visited AdvantageCare at 4771 Hylan Blvd with Dr Zhang to complete a required medical form for my employment. I went into the office for the exam and also completed the necessary blood work. However, after that, no one reached out to me with an update on whether the form was completed. I emailed and called the office multiple times, but I did not receive any response. Most of my interactions were with Nurse Julia, but even after following up several times, I never received confirmation about the status of my form. This lack of communication has been very frustrating, especially since the form is time-sensitive due 9:30 for my employment. Patients should not have to struggle this much to get basic updates or responses regarding important paperwork.
I recently had an insurance change and had my PCP reassigned to a doctor at this facility and I wish I could give 0 stars. Long wait times, would not take a walk-in despite it stating online that walk-ins were welcome, did not believe me about the medications that I'm on and talk about you extremely loudly (to the point you can hear through the walls) and utterly humiliate you. Would not prescribe my inhaler despite me having asthma my literal entire life and needing it daily. Also refused to prescribe medication that my previous PCP prescribed for a chronic condition despite literally calling my pharmacy to confirm that I've taken it before (because she didn't believe me) - literally such a horrific experience that I called to get my insurance changed to be able to see my old PCP. She also told me that I don't have symptoms of a sinus infection (despite having symptoms of a sinus infection and getting disgnosed with one. If you google symptoms of a sinus infection, my symptoms pop up) which shows how extremely uneduated their staff is. Also note her refusal to prescribe me my INHALER was because she "doesn't know me" which is disgusting. I've filed a malpractice complaint and recommend everyone else to as well.
Went to see Fiby Hanna, MD. In Endocrinology. She was so rude & dismissive of me. Didn’t wanna hear anything I had to say. Called me over weight & said she will give me medicine to “ Appease me” but it’s just gonna do anything but make me fat. “With me already being over weight”. What a mean person. I left there with nothing but embarrassment & depression.
