Very Rude Optometrist. Patients beware!! If you get an appointment to be seen by the optometrist in this clinic, you have high chances of being treated in a very rude way by the optometrist. First of all, I want to say I feel compassion for this man; who knows what type of problems he might have going on in his life, to treat patients in an impolite manner. The optometrist, did rush my 91 year old father duringg his visit; he demanded my father answered his questions quickly, because, “he knows how to do his job, since he has been doing it for 30 years.” I reminded the doctor that a 91-year old person needs time to process directions. The doctor directed my father with a rude tone, and without even saying please to NOT TALK WHEN THE DOCTOR TALKS. I replied he needed to be patient with a 91-year old senior, and to accommodate to the patient instead of demanding the patient to adapt to the doctor, and that if he was not going to be patient, we would have to find a different and polite doctor. The lack-of-patience optometrist, with “30 years of experience,“ then stood up, left the room, and never came back. A few minutes later, the secretary came back saying the doctor had to leave; no wonder why he was in a rush to finish my father’s appointment: he needed to leave for lunch or whatever it was he needed to get out of the clinic for. Do not let this optometrist or any other person be intolerant to you; these type of professionals are very well paid for the service they provide you with, and at the minimum should be polite, and and understanding with their patrons, specially if they are very old.

Really unhappy with the service I’ve received so far. I was referred by my rheumatologist. I go in for my appointment and office staff is not very friendly. They finally called me and I had a 2min or less quick eye exam with one of the workers then he dilated my eyes. Had me go back to the waiting room to be called again. Called me after 10min to go into a room. The dr comes in (not Dr. Edelstein) & she adds more drops to dilate my eyes. Does the regular eye exam and says there’s nothing too concerning. I had a form that my rheumatologist wanted them to fill out and she said she will fill it out after they take a photo of my eyes. I didn’t think nothing of it until she gave me my medical file to give to the front and they scheduled another appointment next week for the photo. I got a voicemail today regarding my appointment and they told me I have to pay another $40 co-pay for this photo. I had already paid $70 for the first visit which only lasted 5min with the dr and now I have to pay another $40? It would make more sense to take the photo within the same visit before they dilated my eyes. Not sure what this photo entails or how much work is taken into it but the dr made it seem like it was just a photo. Then I tried to call back after I got out of work today to clarify this and the lady puts me on hold for over 10minutes just to tell me that this Downey office closes at 1pm on Fridays and to call again on Monday (the day of my appointment). I’ll call Monday and update review.

My BF was a patient, so I drove him to his appointment. My problem is with their waiting room. It is a fire hazard! Someone should call the fire department on this doctor. If there is a fire, a lot of people will be harmed. They are crammed in like sardines. Many are elderly. So unsafe! Hoping this situation is corrected.

This is the worst doctors office ever. They do not use the computer to make appts. My husband has been going there for years. When he called to make an appt. They told him he has never been there before. Then after looking they found his files.

Had a procedure done that went well. My problem with follow up visits is the long wait time. Always overbooked 8+ patients waiting regardless of your appointment time!
