Great Service is KEY !!!

Me and my mother came here last Thursday. Her appointment was at 3:40 or 3:50pm. We arrived like 10 minutes prior and still ended up leaving after their closing hour. I felt awkward being in the lobby since staff was clearly exiting for the day and saying their goodbyes and I was the only person still sitting in the lobby waiting for my mother to be done. I called her only to find out the doctor hadn't even seen her yet. I thought they were doing surgery, for as long as she was taking. Then the "doctor" comes in, Myles Brookman, and tells me to come hang out. He starts asking me questions that I don't know why he couldn't just ask my mother. See, I didn't mind answering, but he wouldn't let me finish what I was saying. He was checking her eyes and saying what he saw as I was answering his questions. It felt like he wasn't even listening to what I was telling him about my mother's condition. She was referred there from another Long Beach location and her condition is diabetic-related, according to paperwork I read from a Downey facility. I don't know if we should have brought that paperwork in with us because Myles was acting like he didn't know what was wrong with her and referred to her condition as, "this big ol' bump on her eye". He came off as arrogant and judgemental. My mom has no problem speaking. It's not like she needed a translator. We are Latina and I believe his dismissive attitude and treatment of us was likely due to our ethnicity. Please tell him to not interrupt people he called in to answer questions. Very unprofessional and rude. We didn't choose that place. We were referred there and were again shuffled around to yet another place from there. He didn't even touch her eye. I believe she has a chalazion. May we never have to come here again. One bad experience and person can spoil your entire impression. Remind your employees. Front desk staff were polite and professional. The one star is for the long, long wait time (being put last as others who walked in later left before us) and for the doctor experience.

On 04/15/26, I arrived at Myles Brookman, M.D. 2:45Pm for 3:00PM and approx. 3:40PM I was called into a room for initial check up for eye pressure, and reading vision test. Then I was told to wait in another waiting room located in the back area in the office for another hour and 25 minutes. I expressed my aggravation to the office assistant about the long waiting period and she explained the waiting period was the standard and that All patients received written notice to expect the extended waiting periods. This a false statement because I never received a notice or advised verbally about long waiting periods. I had cataract surgery on 04/07/26 at 2600 Redondo Ave., Suite 203 / Long Beach, Ca 90806. My appt was scheduled 10:15 AM, and I arrived 9:45AM and I was called to the rear 11:25AM and rolled into surgery just after 12:05PM. . . . The surgery was completed by 12:30. I was discharged by 1:10PM My complaint is that the facility is overbooking patiences and causing long unnecessary waiting periods.

Dr. Le is wonderful! She’s very friendly and pleasant, with excellent bedside manners. She takes her time during eye exams, is very caring, and explains everything in detail without ever making you feel rushed. I really appreciate her thoroughness and genuine concern for her patients. Highly recommend!

Although I had preregistered & confirmed appointment time (3pm), a woman who was attempting to schedule a first time meeting was given 15 minutes uninterrupted attention b4 I was acknowledged. I was not taken in until 3:20pm. After being dilated, Iwas told to wait another 5 minutes b4 beginning the exam. 20 minutes later, I was seen, the ophthalmologist appologized as she explained that another patient took longer than expected. Dr. Le is quite cordial, but it took 90 minutes for an examination that could have been accomplished in 20 minutes! Despite the above criticism, all staff members were pleasant & the facilities are 1st class. Dr. Le was quite informative & professional. I was over-all appreciative with my visit.
