I was cognizant of the significance of the peaceful , comforting and patient - centric atmosphere from the moment I stepped in the lobby entrance. From the initial genuinely friendly greeting from office Staff, to the pleasant lobby/waiting room atmosphere and seating (non crowded) there was absolutely No feeling of being just another number/patient. The lovely nook in the waiting area with self-service provisions for free coffee /water bottles, clean restrooms, and in all public areas there were artwork displays ——decorations upon the walls featuring uplifting and encouraging verses of poetry and prose, and pleasant landscapes and young child-age appropriate artwork — along with more than one television playing (on low volume) family friendly programming. There was a very short lobby wait before my name was called for the initial portion of the examination of my eyes. Once in the first area for testing, the nursing staff was calming, patient and explanative of all the processes of the tests which were necessary for the Doctor to best understand my case and any potential changes in my physical eye condition or sight performance since my last exam. There was almost no wait for the doctor once the testing was over. From Nursing staff to Doctor was a well organized and streamlined process. Upon his entry into the room for the next level of examinations and diagnosis process, Dr. Ferrell was (is) very polite and professional. With the aid of interactive computer imagery, he commenced with explaining all the details of my eye condition, taking time with each image or diagram on a mounted screen for excellent visibility, to ask me if I had any questions or concerns, giving me the opportunity to express them without any sense that he was in a hurry. He exemplified the best of thorough , un-rushed and efficient medical professionalism in his manner and executing the needed medical procedures . for diagnosis of condition and plan for appropriate treatment/eye-care. ** I wish that all my medical/physician directed experiences could be this pleasant and comforting. The office admin staff were also very pleasant and helpful in the process of the conclusion of my appointment. I am very confident in and very grateful for such an excellent Optometrist and his support staff of like minded medical professionals who have an attitude of excellence performance, kindness to and respect for the patient as Dr. Ferrell practices and provides.
