BARDS FOR THE WIN!!! I walked in this afternoon in hopes of getting my glasses adjust; had ZERO luck thus far. I walked in and the ladies were all busy however 1 lady took the time to greet me and she even took a few extra minutes before her lunch to help a fellow member! I waited for just a couple minutes and was helped by an amazingly friendly woman! She told me she could adjust my glasses no problem. I bought my glasses from Pair Eyewear not from Bards! Took a couple minutes and they were perfect! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! You guys are amazing and saved my life! 😊😊

Got eyes tested on 12/11. Sat down with someone to pick out a pair of glasses. All she showed me was the difference between the anti-glare lenses. She told me my total, I paid and left. She called 10 min later and said she forgot to charge for the scratch/anti-glare protection and it was going to be an additional charge to my credit card. I said ok. On 12/26 the glasses arrived and they were not anything I discussed with the doctor. I told them they were wrong and they said they would call me. They called said it would be more money. I asked to return the glasses since they were not what I wanted and discussed needing for work purposes. They advised they could not be returned. They called later and stated that they wanted to talk to the doctor I saw but he was out of the office until 1/7. She stated she would not be able to talk to the doctor until Monday at the earliest over the phone (which would be 12.29). Today is 1/6 and I have not heard from anyone. I don’t have any solution. I got charged for glasses that were not what I requested. They said they are not sure where the breakdown occurred. Clearly occurred when did not show me all the lens options. Then continued when did not charge me correctly, and still continues as still waiting for a call back 11 days later and counting. Go somewhere more personable, this place is not it for customer service and quality of work. Update as of 1/9. Still no resolution.
Dr. Harvey and Jala was amazing helping my daughter with first time wearing contacts. She is so happy to be able to wear them for sports. Thank you both and the lady that checked us in yesterday.
Bard optical I have a huge problem with you and your corporation! I really feel the need to share this. I would definitely not recommend this place. They did absolutely nothing to help my child be able to receive the proper eyeware/ glasses that she needed. So let me start off first by stating I am writting this especially to inform other special needs parents. I, myself personally have a down syndrome child. Who was in dier need for a pair of glasses. Since she had accidentally broken her current pair.( For those who are not familiar with D.S. people. Let me feel you in. Her eyes are different. They are a Tinkerbell shaped type of slanted. Along with her having no bridge to her nose. For her particularly , she has cataracts. So she is really blind like without glasses.) Let me just share that I pay for Blue Cross Blue Shield for my households insurance. I also pay for additional FepBlueVision (option high) for additional insurance. So to be within my network I choose to go to 1700 E College Ave Suite 3, in Normal, IL 61761. Everything was going as well as one would assume. We had eyes looked at and tested. After that was said and done. We received just her prescription. Then they kept trying to get us to buy a pair of their glasses. I nicely explained that she could not wear normal frames. I even showed them and explained why. To perhaps give them have a better understanding. In which case I was told that I could order a pair Of special needs glasses for her. Just a frames and that they would help supply the lenses. My daughter was wearing her broken pair of glasses there. I was able to show them the size. Making sure that they could do that. Mind you they provided us with no measurements for her frame sizes. Let me tell you.It is very hard to get special needs glasses or frames as an individual outside of network. Having not being a provider myself. I was told If they did order these glasses that it would cost just for them to order them. Not for the frames not for the lenses. Just to reach other to help get what we needed. In which case they never even ordered. I find this to be absolutely ridiculous of how little understanding that they have towards special needed people!
The glasses I purchased here absolutely SUCK! It feels like a bait and switch. I tried on the frames before purchasing them and they looked and felt fine. Once I received them the quality didn't remotely match. I called in to request a return and spoke with the person who helped me purchase the glasses in the first place. He basically said I picked them out and it was my responsibility. What I picked out doesn't come close to what I received. Insurance covered the lenses at 100% and I paid for part of the frame. The reason I'm being given of why I can't have a refund is because they made my lenses.....why can't they refund me for the part I actually paid for (the frames)?. I was offered a new pair at 50% off. Why would I buy another pair from them when these are so crappy? It doesn't matter what insurance you have .....this place isn't worth it at any price!!!!!
