I had such a great experience with Dr. Gordon and his office. Everyone was professional, welcoming, and genuinely cared about my eye health and vision. I have a very strong prescription, and after struggling with the wrong prescription from my previous eye doctor, Dr. Gordon took the time to really listen and make sure everything was accurate. He found the perfect prescription for me, and I’m seeing so much better now. You can truly tell he cares about his patients and wants the best for their vision instead of rushing through appointments. I highly recommend Dr. Gordon to anyone looking for quality eye care everyone should come here!

Been a patient here for 30 years, but will never go back now. The absolute worst customer service. Waited two months for glasses. Very rude. Tried to talk to the manager or doctor for a week, and they were never there and wouldn't call back. Would not recommend. Response to Owner: I left multiple messages for the manager to call me back starting on August 7, 2026. I then asked to speak with her manager on August 10, 2026. I was always told someone would call me back, but they didn't. As of August 24, 2026, I have not yet received a callback. The individual I dealt with even divulged the name of a patient to me, which is in violation of HIPAA laws. Even when I was there today to finally get my glasses, she had a nasty attitude. The whole thing was a disaster because, when the frames were ordered a second time, they were put on the wall for someone else to buy rather than being sent to the lab. I paid my order in full on June 29, 2026, and was initially told on August 7, 2026, that they did not have a patient or order by the name of my son, even after spelling it to the rude individual twice when I ordered the glasses, and was only able to finally pick them up today, August 24, 2026. I should not know the names of other patients. All around bad customer service and a violation of the law. Not disingenuous at all. Well deserved for horrible customer service. Social media got your attention because my multiple calls and messages obviously didn't. Shame on you.

Dr. Gordon is the absolute best! Not only is he incredibly attentive of my concerns, he come up with innovative solutions. My whole family goes to Barenburg Eye Associates and the always go out of their way to take care of us.

I was contact by Tori after my previous review of 1 star (for bad experience). The call with Tori was generous and happy to change my review to 5 star after issue was resolved amicably. Hope to have similar excellent experience in future.

*Optical department review (Ellicott City): last year I spent over $300 to get new lenses in glasses I already owned. This year, I asked the woman at the optical department if she could give me my PD reading to which she responded “are you buying glasses here… It’s not part of your prescription, they can walk you through how to do it online.” While it may not be part of the prescription, it is a measurement needed to buy glasses and the optical department has a tool that can provide this in seconds. I find it incredibly disheartening that the staff would put profit above customer service. So now, not only did she not make a sale, but she’s also tainted my previously positive experience at this business.
