I have been coming here for a few years and I recommend them to anyone looking for quality eye care in a welcoming environment. The staff are friendly, patient, and very gentle throughout your entire visit. It’s clear they genuinely care about their patients’ comfort. The doctors are equally impressive. Dr. S takes time to explain everything clearly and makes himself available to questions. I have no complaints.

I am especially thankful for Melanie… she guided me through the entire process of cataract surgery .. pre-op through post-op. After having both cataracts removed and replaced with specialized lenses, one addressing distance and the other for reading, the results were life changing. Dr. Steven Berger did the delicate surgeries, but his entire team was involved in the pre and post surgical evaluation and care. The commitment and care to ensure that the results were successful was obvious, and I couldn’t be more pleased. My final visit, after numerous healing progress checkups was with Dr. Symolon. He did a comprehensive evaluation of both eyes and confirmed what I could already sense, that both new lenses were properly seated and incorporated into the eye tissue. My prior vision issues were gone, no more dim vision, greatly reduced starbursts from oncoming traffic, and no need for eye glasses or contacts. Baystate Eye Care is one of the finest medical practices I have ever interacted with and highly recommend them for your eye care.

I chose this office because I followed my eye doctor, Anna Symolon, here from a previous practice. As always, the care from the doctor was excellent—professional, thorough, and attentive. That said, my overall experience with the office itself was mixed. I had to wait about 25 minutes past my scheduled appointment time only to be told they were "busy" when I inquired with the receptionist concerning the delay. It was confusing, as other patients arriving at a later time were taken before me. While I understand that delays can happen, better communication would have been appreciated. The most frustrating part of my visit was the process for getting my prescription. Instead of it simply being handed to me after the exam, I was directed to the optical shop, where I then had to wait while staff assisted other customers with eyeglass selections. Both of the salespeople indicated they would be with me "momentarily" even as I stated that I only needed my prescription. This felt unnecessary and inefficient, since the process of providing the prescription only required picking it up from a photocopier and handing it to me. Overall, the quality of care from Dr. Symolon is great, but the office workflow and customer experience could use some improvement.

Appointment was really great. Front end staff so friendly and technician was so through. Dr was great and the whole process was a little over an hour as eyes were dilated for exam. Would recommend Baystate Eye Care if you want a professional visit. Even check out was simple and staff again so pleasant
