Big City Optical La Grange

I'm pretty sure they mislead me during the explanation that I did not have to get photos and that there would be an extra charge. I didn't want to and they gave me no other option to avoid an extra $40 charge that my insurance did not cover. I explicitly asked about dilation and they made it seem like that was also extra charge. They also quoted me $1,000 for a pair of glasses and the low low price of $420 with insurance. Cherry on top was the credit card processing fee. What am I paying insurance for? It's cheaper to go to Walmart and get glasses at Costco or online. I liked the doctor though.

Long overdue review for one of my favorite local businesses in downtown La Grange! Have been going here for years and I can honestly say I've never, ever had a bad experience here. The women are all lovely and very helpful, not to mention always so nice and welcoming! Highly recommend this location and those representing this eye doctor.

They were accommodating, they explained pricing regarding insurance and options, and the appointment went smoothly. Great experience and I spent a little less than I thought it would be. Dr. Randy was nice and explained all parts of the testing and results. Selection of frames was easy and the other employees were friendly and helpful.

I walked in to Eye Mechanix in LaGrange after my glasses split at the nose bridge and I wanted to recover the lenses into a different frame that I had. Amy and Rain helped me so much and completely changed how life was going that day! Not only did they make the lens swap for me, they also adjusted the back up pair of glasses on my face to make them more comfortable. I went from devastated about my broken glasses to all fixed up within 30 mo. When I went to pay for the service, they kindly told me happy to help me at no charge which was very unexpected! I will definitely bring business back to this place!! Frame selection looked great for next time!

Had a WONDERFUL first-time experience here and will definitely be coming back! Dr. Ricketts and his staff were very helpful and prompt, made an appointment at 2pm and walked out of there before they closed at 4pm with an order for 2 new pairs of glasses… which is not always a guarantee elsewhere in terms of speediness. Very painless overall. The frames are not cheap but hey, their selection is vast and they seem to stand by the quality of their catalog. I am most pleased with them and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone!
