**Update** - Marie contacted me after my review posted and advised that Kelly was no longer with Dr. Wilkemeyer’s staff and that she wanted to do whatever she could to correct the issues stated in the original post. I agreed and went back to the office to see what could be done to resolve the problem. Marie agreed that the glasses I purchased were not the right fit and even mentioned that they were men’s glasses. She immediately grabbed a series of different frames for me to try on and we began the process again. Marie was polite, friendly and very professional. It was clear to me that she had the experience I needed to determine which frames were best suited for my face along with providing input on color, shape and style. After a significant amount of time, I chose a new frame that I think will be perfect. In addition, Marie reviewed the original order and found some other things that could be improved upon so that I not only had the best frame, but also the best lenses. I am so appreciative of Marie following up with me and working to correct the situation. My new glasses are now on order and should be ready in roughly 10-14 days 🙂. Thank you Marie!! —————————————————————— Dr Wilkemeyer is great! He took the time to listen to the issues I was having with my current eyeglasses and provided some useful information. He followed up with an extensive eye exam and provided me with a much better prescription than I had previously. Unfortunately, the woman who handles the purchase of new frames is not great. She rushes you through finding a new frame and doesn’t seem to have any experience with which frames fit well according to your face. I reluctantly purchased a new pair of glasses and they are the most ill fitting glasses I have ever owned. They are too big for my face and in spite of having them adjusted they don’t stay in place and fall off regularly. I spent a significant amount of money and now I am going to have to find another place to get new frames that actually fit. My suggestion is to purchase glasses elsewhere and don’t even bother trying to work with the woman in the office. She’s not concerned with making sure the patient has glasses that will work for them. My Daughter & I both love going to this place! We feel so very comfortable as if we're getting our eyes examed right in our Living Room area. My Daughter has been going to Dr. Wilkemeyer since grade school and as an adult/under her own insurance, the first name she had in mind, is Dr. Wilkemeyer. We love his very laid-back, patient personality and great sense of humor. Also, he makes you feel like family. Unlike, the much larger/commercialized Optometry places that makes you feel like your only a number coming up next in an assembly line and their main concerns are to upsell you on their other products to hype up the cost on their eyewear. His longtime Assistant Kelley, she is Awesome too!👍. We highly recommend going here.

Wonderful doctor who takes care of you like an an old family friend. Great selection of glasses and top notch advice for face framing. My bi-focals are always measured exactly and perfectly aligned.

Our family of 5 have all been seeing Dr. Wilkemeyer for years. He and Kelly have been taking great care of us and are very professional. They also wear the protective face coverings & gloves during this difficult time. At the spur of the moment my 90-year-old father-in-law sat on his glasses and broke them. I brought them in late on a Friday afternoon and Kelly pulled out her tools and happily fixed for free. I highly recommend this practice and am very grateful for Avenue Eyecare!

Dr Wilkemeyer is a knowledgeable and caring Dr. i have been seeing him since we moved to the area 3yrs ago. Recently i had an eye concern that was after hours. I called the office and Dr Wilkemeyer called me back after hours promptly to follow up and ease my concerns and even went so far to offer to have me come to the office if there was an emergency. Luckily it was of no concern, but you do not come across that sort of care often. Much appreciated and highly recommended!
