I had LASIK surgery with Dr. Brenner at Boston Vision, and it was a very positive experience. From the first consultation to the procedure and follow-up care, everything felt organized, professional, and reassuring. I'll be honest - at first I was a little put off by the assembly-line process of the consultation, but I want to assure anyone else with the same concern that when it comes to your care, you will be treated with the upmost care and individualized attention. Dr. Brenner took the time to explain the process clearly, answer my questions, and ensure I felt comfortable before proceeding. I had even emailed him prior to surgery day to ask about my permanent eyeliner, and got a response within a couple of hours. The staff was friendly and efficient, which helped ease my nerves. During my consult, I was on the line between LASIK and PRK. On the day of surgery, it was still a game-time decision. I was pretty nervous making what felt like a huge decision in a matter of moments, but Dr. Brenner answered all my questions and helped me make an educated decision without me feel rushed. The procedure was quick and much less intimidating than I had expected. I felt some mild discomfort afterward, but that was well explained beforehand and went away quickly. I noticed improvement in my vision almost immediately, and it continued to get better over the following days. The aftercare was easy, and my "goodie bag" contained everything I needed. What stood out to me was the level of care and attention throughout the process. I felt well-informed at each step, and never pressured. Literally every staff member that I interacted with was kind and helpful. Overall, I’m thrilled with my decision and would recommend Dr. Brenner and Boston Vision to anyone considering LASIK. And there are snacks in the pre-op room!

I recently had LASIK performed by Dr. Jason Brenner at Boston Vision, and today is the 6th day after the surgery. My experience from consultation through surgery and follow-up has been excellent. Dr. Brenner was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my questions in detail, which gave me confidence in making an informed decision. The entire staff was professional, friendly, and supportive throughout the process. For anyone considering LASIK, I’d like to share my personal experience: During the procedure: I felt very little pain overall. The only noticeable discomfort was when pressure was applied to each eye, which I would rate around 2/10. The rest of the procedure was quick and much easier than I had expected. Immediately after surgery: Once the numbing drops wore off, I experienced burning, tearing, and irritation for about the first 4 hours, which I would rate around 5/10. Resting with my eyes closed and following the post-operative instructions made this period manageable, and the discomfort gradually improved afterward. The first few days: My distance vision improved very quickly, but I noticed some blurry vision when reading up close, which I understand is a normal part of the early healing process. My vision has continued to improve with each passing day. Overall, I had a very positive experience and felt well cared for from beginning to end. I’m grateful to Dr. Brenner and the entire Boston Vision team for their excellent care. Everyone’s healing experience is different, but I hope sharing my experience helps others know what to expect.
Everything with Boston Vision was simple and painless. The initial consultation is scheduled very quickly once you reach out, so be prepared for this. You won't be waiting weeks or months for an appointment. The staff and docs are very thorough and explain everything in detail and are happy to answer an y questions you have. After all the initial testing we discussed options and determined the best plan of treatment for me. Unfortunately, life got in the way and I wasn't able to proceed. 9 months later I was ready and the follow up consult happened just as quickly. The LASIK surgery itself is was quick and painless. There was a bit of discomfort once home because my eye (only had one done) was watering so much, but within a couple hours that was done and no more discomfort. Didn't even need to take Tylenol or Advil. My vision was better the same day of the surgery. It is awesome to be able to read everything on my phone on the smallest font without reading glasses. Grocery shopping the next day was better because I could read all the vegetale and fruit codes on the stickers without glasses. Truly a life changing experience that I would recommend to anyone.
I had LASIK at Boston Vision with Dr. Melki, and overall, it was a great experience. From consultation to surgery was just one week — a quick turnaround that I appreciated. The process was smooth from start to finish. One tip: if you have VSP vision insurance, make sure to ask about the discount upfront — it wasn't volunteered, but once I asked, it was applied without issue and made a meaningful difference in cost. A few days post-op I developed some symptoms that had me worried about complications. Boston Vision got me in promptly for a check, and everything turned out to be fine. That responsiveness really stood out. At day 10 my vision isn't perfect yet, but I'm already glasses-free and seeing well. Fully expecting continued improvement as I heal. Would recommend Dr. Melki and the Boston Vision team.
Today marks 3 weeks since my ICL surgery and I'm happy to share that my vision has gotten better since the initial first few days. I am way less sensitive to light and see less halos and rings. - Day of the surgery - Very tired and slept to entire day. No pain just sensitivity to light. - Day after surgery - 20/20 vision. I could go outside and take myself to the follow up appt but just needed sunglasses. Strong rings and halos around lights especially at night or in dark rooms like parking garages. Some challenge to shower without touching my eyes so I wore swimming goggles in the shower - Two Days after surgery - Went to the park to paint and noticed some pain when changing vision from super close canvas to a far away landscape I was painting. Also noticed pain if I accidentally touched my eyes in the shower. Otherwise, totally fine to be outside with sunglasses and do normal things like going out to eat with a friend or shopping - Three Weeks after surgery - My eyesight only got better as I recovered from the procedure. I see less halos around lights and do not require sunglasses. I'm doing all the normal day to day things and don't need to put on glasses or contacts which is amazing. Thank you Boston Vision!
