Disappointing Experience – Be Aware of Contact Lens Exam Charges My wife recently visited Brevard Eye Exam for a routine eye exam, which was fully covered by TRICARE. She also wears contact lenses, so the doctor had her put them in, asked if they felt comfortable, watched her move her eyes with a light for less than a minute, and then stated that her contact lens prescription did not need to be changed. There were no trial lenses provided, no changes to her prescription, no refitting, and no adjustments made. Despite that, we were charged an additional $110 for a contact lens exam. When I asked why we were charged the full contact lens exam fee when no fitting or prescription changes were performed, I was simply told that it was their standard price. While I understand that practices have their own fee schedules, it was frustrating to pay $110 for what felt like a very brief confirmation that her existing contacts were still working. I hope this review helps others ask about contact lens exam fees and what those fees actually include before their appointment. Transparency about these charges upfront would have made for a much better experience

I recently was treated by Dr Burns for my Keratoconous eye disease. My corneas are shaped like a cone & without a hard lens, I am legally blind in my left eye. I was diagnosed 30 years ago.We moved to Florida several years ago. I visited several area eye clinics to be fitted with new prescription for RGP hard contact lenses. I was disappointed in all of these practices as they failed to properly fit me with this special lens. I found Brevard Vision & Dr Burns through a recommendation from an Ophthalmologist at Walmart! Dr Burns has been outstanding & has given me a treatment plan that includes being prescribed with a correct measurement & a perfect fit for my cone shaped cornea! BVs Practice Mgr, Negar was very helpful as well. She explained the time line of ordering these special lens through a vendor & what to expect when they arrive. Based on my experiences with Brevard Vision, I strongly recommend them. They genuinely cared & I did not feel like I was in a queue waiting to be seen.

Brevard Vision Care staff members are a pleasure to work with. For years now (20+), Dr Boyle has provided me excellent eye care that has allowed me to have good vision so that I could enjoy life to the fullest. Dr. Boyle diagnoses your vision needs and recommends a plan of action, which in my case, always addressed the problems I was having with my vision. You could not ask for anything more.
