Was referred from Primary Physician after seeing retinal imaging sent from my optometrist showing multiple hemorrhages. Argued with me regarding purpose of my visit. She was not in exam room for more than 5 min total, in and out. She did leave to read my medical history. Visit lasted an hour and 15 min. Was hostile, combative for no reason. I’m still confused. She is possibly a well qualified optometrist. Her fast talking, non listening, unexplained hostile personality made for a miserable experience and i left without understanding my visual issues. A poor representation of optometry. Her assistant Dana was sensitive to what was happening and very professional.

It has been approximately 4 years since my last eye exam and at that time I was prescribed not only a stronger prescription, but contact lenses. During my routine office visit, I explained I wear my glasses while driving and especially at night. Over the past year I had noticed a decline in my vision and was not able to safely drive without wearing my glasses. During the examination, I mentioned how I was familiar with the eye assessment and various tests being performed due to being an RN. Also, I informed them I was not able to read the letters, but knew what they were since I had memorized the snellen eye chart. Despite all of this I was instructed to perform eye exercises due to having eye that "like to focus" and I would need to retrain them over a six week period. She also stated that I did not need glasses and if I still had trouble seeing I could make another appointment. When I asked what do to at night, since I felt unsafe to drive without glasses. She stated she would prefer I did not wear my glasses at all, but if I needed to wear the prescription with the weaker strength. I do not plan on returning, but will plan to get a second opinion from an Ophthalmologist and not an Optometrists.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Eddins for over 30 years. She’s been great, very professional, very knowledgeable, very likable. I’ve had various issues with my vision over the years, and she’s always spotted what’s wrong and sent me to specialists when need be. Her staff is also very professional. I highly recommend Dr. Eddins.
Dr. Eddins was great with both me and my 14-year-old son. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Great selection of glasses in the optical shop. Highly recommend!
Dr. Eddins and her staff are unorganized, unknowledgeable and trash. I drove 2 hours from Columbia to be disregarded and disappointed. My insurance is changing soon so I will be back with my doctor in Columbia and I can't wait. Good riddance Dr. Eddins and your incompetent staff.
