I’ve had the pleasure to be seen by Dr. Kathryn Lewis. She answered all my questions, took time to listen to my concerns, and offered the best treatment. I have been dealing with chronic dry eye for years and was under the care of a previous ophthalmologist. After numerous treatments (that weren’t covered under insurance) and expensive never ending prescriptions, I decided to see someone else. Thank goodness for Dr. Lewis! A simple in office treatment was all I needed. No more prescriptions, and a treatment at no cost to me leaving me healed! It’s such a pleasure every time I see her. She is personable, intelligent and really cares about her patients. Acuity eye group is where I will be staying for my eye care needs.

Update August 2026 I have gotten a refund of the $2150 laser upgrade because of the poor results I am experiencing from cataract surgery in April 2026 at the Palm Desert surgery center. I wish I would have NEVER done this surgery especially with Acuity Eye Group. I have established service with another ophthalmology specialist and am awaiting my appointment next Tuesday for the doctor to do a laser procedure for cloudy vision. This procedure is normally done 2 to 5 years after the original cataract removal surgery. My vision has been cloudy ever since I had the surgery in April and that's not right! I hope that this new doctor can fix what Acuity did not do. Dr Murphy also told me in first person singular English that he could put stints in my eye drain to help control pressure. About a week or so before my surgery, the scheduling assistant confirmed that the stints would be done when the cataract surgery was done. At the surgery center on the day they operated on me, it was a whole different story about the stints and that they weren't going to do them and that Dr Murphy didn't even do that procedure in the first place. Why he told me at our initial meetibg that he could do it for just an extra few minutes during the Cataract procedure and then the staff at the surgery center said that he's not going to be doing the stints, I will never know. I have drusen on my optic nerves and high pressure is an enemy since the drusen and elevated pressure destroy the optic nerve fibers going into the back of my eye. The long term result is total blindness which is what happened to my right eye about 15 years ago. I have been no stranger to opthalmologist offices since 1971 and right now, I consider the cararact surgery the biggest medical mistake I have ever made in my life! I hope and pray that I can come back with a revision of total success from next week's procedure!

The staff was efficient. Dr. Lewis was pleasant, knowledgeable. My mother (patient) felt like she mattered by entire staff.

Most everything was a good experience. My only issue was having to fill out forms in the office , when they should be available online when i have enough time to fill it out completely.
