I've visited Dr. Matty Chang's office twice, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing. As someone who also works in a front office, I was especially surprised by how unwelcoming the staff was--particularly Deanna. There was no smile, no greeting, not even a simple "hello" or "how can I help you?" Instead, I was met with a curt, "Do you have an appointment?" To make matters worse, my glasses were mishandled not once, but twice. The first pair I received wasn't even what I ordered, and I was never able to wear them. When I asked to have the issue corrected, I was charged $221. I firmly believe that if the mistake was on their end, the patient should not bear the cost of the correction. I also had issues obtaining my prescription a year after that mistake in 2025. I had to request it twice--the first one was incorrect, which I only realized after purchasing glasses elsewhere (since their in-office selection was too expensive). The second prescription was also wrong. These errors cost me time and money I shouldn't have had to spend. When I called and asked Deanna to review the prescription over the phone with me, it was still incorrect because the RX she read to me was completely different than what they have written on the RX. I explained how much these repeated mistakes had cost me, but all I received was a half-hearted apology and a vague offer of a "free prescription." I later called the zenni optical directly and was told that because the prescription had already been corrected once, I'd now have to pay again--since, in their words, "we don't have time to be correcting people's mistakes."To make matters worse, the prescription correction was backdated, which seemed like an effort to cover up the mistake rather than resolve it. Communication has been poor throughout--text messages go unanswered, and I had to repeatedly follow up myself to check on the status of my glasses. Courtesy calls and clear communication should be the norm, not the exception. Sadly, I cannot recommend this office. The front office experience in particular left a lasting negative impression, and it's disappointing that so little effort was made to take responsibility or make things right. If I don't know if Dr. Matty Chang is aware of these situations but if she is than that makes the matter even worse and very bad for business..
