Castillejos Eye Institute Med Group

I was received by an assistant that tried to check the pressure of my right eye. He asked me to open the eye widely, which I did. However, he tried to separate the eyelids but he carelessly made strong pressure with the left finger over the eye. I said to him that I got pain. He tried to do it the second time and he again caressly caused me pain. I explained again, and after that he was very rude complaining that I didn't open the eye enough. However, he refused to continue giving me proper service and left the room saying rude words that there is no need to mention here. Dr. Castillejos has given me good service for a couple of years already. I want to believe that this was not a good day for this employee, being that the reason he was not doing a professional work.

TLDR: Cataract surgery, busy Dr., long wait times, Excellent results Pro: Cataract surgery results where Excellent, vision substantially improve, to the point I don't use my glasses for day-to-day activities anymore. Inretrospect Cons seem minor now. Cons: Long wait times while waiting for Dr. appt to start, snacks are handed out while waiting for Dialation to take, Dr. Castillejos seemed rushed during appt, he is very busy. Person scheduling Hospital appt seemed somewhat disorganized. When I asked for pamplets in English, they only had Spanish.

This place is incredibly frustrating. I bring my mom here for her appointments, and every visit involves an excessive wait before she’s finally seen. There seems to be little regard for patients’ time. On top of that, they never call to confirm appointments. One time we arrived as scheduled and were told there was no record of her appointment at all. It really feels like they’re overwhelmed with too many patients, which results in a lack of organization and prevents them from giving each patient the attention and care they deserve. Save yourself the time and go elsewhere for better care and a place that actually respects your time.

Dr, Maria Castillejos is by far the best Doctor i had the plesure of meeting , she operated on me for a Macular Hole on my right eye, She has vast experience, and a commanding presence as surgeon and at the clinic, forgot to mencion she realy cares for all her patients. (Emphatic, Compassionate) Also a state of the art clinic and great personal that will make you feel at home.

I am being a Patient of Castillejos Eye institute. I am happy the personal treat me with Respect, Kindness, and they speak clearly for I can be able to anderstand. I wanna say to all the employees, Thank you ❤️.
