Center For Sight – Jacaranda

I was very sad I was not able to see Dr.Hardee since I look forward to seeing her each and every year since 2011, however, everyone at the Jacaranda location was so wonderful. I had to ask for a day off of work to make my original appointment and when they had to reschedule me, they were able to get me into the Jacaranda office so I didn’t have to ask for another whole day off and push out my appointment further. Everyone was so sweet and took the time to make sure I was taken care of in the best way possible. They were so in depth with my appointment and I felt heard with everything I brought to their attention. The girls at the front desk were super sweet and everyone that cared for me that day was amazing and eased my anxiety about going somewhere unfamiliar. I would definitely come back if needed, they are a wonderful group to have met.

The only reason I am giving two stars is that the reception staff and assistants are very kind. I had one appointment at 10:30am and I left after 25 minutes with a packed waiting room and no doctor in sight. I came back today for my 8:45am and waited 30 plus minutes to be seen. The assistant called me back and completed her portion of the exam. She dilated and dyed my eyes, and put me in a waiting room “for twenty minutes”. At this time it was almost two hours into my appointment time. I waited 15 minutes and when the doctor I had an appointment with called another client in, I told the assistant I was leaving. She told me “but you’re next” and I said ma’am I’ve been here since 8:45. It’s almost 11. I can’t wait here any longer, u have other things to do. Dr. Sowkai has no respect for his patients. Zero. I highly recommend avoiding this place and going somewhere they aren’t behind by an hour or more at every appointment. Such a waste of time. Now I have to find a new provider and start all over, but I refuse to be treated like my time is less important than anyone else’s.

Dr. Sowka is superb. Not only the maximum competence and training, but a wonderful manner with patients that puts them at ease. I'd give 10 stars out of five! I've heard great things about Dr. Vollmer in this office, too. Unfortunately, dealings at the front desk aren't always wonderful -- and recently one was quite bad. Worse, I've had next-to-impossible, patient-hostile, dealings with the US Eye/Center For Sight centralized telephone system, and particularly with the billing department. Providers' organizations simply MUST take care of their patients.

Reading other reviews beforehand, I was expecting a huge wait...but only waited about 10 minutes! Dr. Vega was delightful & thorough, and the tech has a lovely sense of humor that I much appreciated! The place was clean as a whistle & easy to find, too! Will go back again for my next exam!

I think Dr Vollmer and her assistants are terrific. The resin for only 4 stars is that I’m always early for my appointment, I dutifully fill out the paperwork in advance, but the appointment is always late. This time it was 35 minutes late, probably the smallest wait I’ve had.
