The staff was very friendly and thorough. I explained it had been a while since everything had been checked with my eyes and I need to make sure everything was ok. And they definitely understood the assignment. I felt the examine was thorough. The optical staff took my questions and concerns into consideration, I felt very well examined, and heard by all. Thank you Chapel Hill Ophthalmology. Insurance referred you as being a one stop shop and I feel you all did not disappoint. Dr Wood did not appear to be the friendliest, but I figured once a year visits. And everyone was good. I will deal. Healthgrade review said it best Dr wood is reserved and business like. Being a New Yorker I can definitely understand.

I saw Dr wood last week, I was able to get seen the same week and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Dr wood performed a quick procedure and advised on next steps. Highly recommend and will go back for optical or surgical needs
STAY AWAY!!!! Read the reviews!!!! I have never in my life been treated with more disrespect and disregard than at this practice. I went the first time 15 days ago and thought I was being left to let my eyes reset so I left. I then got a phone call saying I wasn’t done after already being there for over an hour. I was already given my contact lenses and sat down and left for over 10 minutes. Then I get told to just come on back in and we can just finish up the exam. When I walk in today I’m greeted not warmly at all and they can’t figure out how to fix the insurance issues. They are trying to find the paper charts like they did in the 90s. Then when I get called back the woman wants my old prescription that I already told him I didn’t have she wanted my glasses that I had forgotten which is my fault but they already scanned them. But I was told that that was placed on a temporary sheet and not a sheet that they keep in my chart. As somebody who also works in another medical practice I would never have temporary sheets for my patients. Everything that is done in the clinic is kept as a record. The fact that they don’t keep records from every appointment is irresponsible dangerous and reckless. Stay away from them they are stuck in the 90s and do not want to advance.
Terrible! Dr. Wood was condescending, dismissive, and downright cold. Staff was also rude, rough with the eyes during testing and the visit felt uncomfortable from start to finish. I left without clear answers. Complete waste of time and money. Go elsewhere if you want respectful care and basic communication.
I love everyone that works here, especially the staff at the front desk! They are so nice and you can really tell that they enjoy their jobs. I recommend them to everyone. Bonus - they have the BEST selection of glasses!!
