Last year - July 2025, I scheduled an appointment for a regular eye checkup. I had to wait almost an hour beyond my appointment time, because the doctor had overbooked her patients, and was now running late. She had me come in on a separate day for testing and fearing the worst, I booked my appointment at an earlier time. I still had to wait about 30 minutes beyond my appointment time to be seen. Before leaving I scheduled an appointment for July 2026 at 9 am. When I called to confirm my appointment today, I was told there was a mistake and while my checkup was in the Arlington office, where I lived, someone at their end had scheduled me to do the testing in the Annapolis office. When I requested if I could reschedule it so that both checkup and testing could be done on the same day in Arlington, I was told the earliest appointment available was more than 3 months later on October 23. When I asked if there was an earlier appointment, I was told the best they could do was schedule me for September but I would have to make two separate visits-one for checkup and one for testing. It's ironic that this place is called Arlington Eye Center, because the one thing they absolutely lack is vision. Vision to put patient care, appointment scheduling, and seeing patients at the appointed time as their number 1 task. Between the doctor and her staff, this is like the blind leading the blind which is a real eye-opener. Addendum on July 31, 2026: When I went into collect my paperwork on July 24, to see if I could schedule with another doctor, the front office staff was courteous and nice and immediately acknowledged their error due to a call center scheduler mistake. They scheduled me for an appointment within a few days and I finished seeing the doctor and did all the testing within an hour and a half . There was very little wait time and the staff was very efficient. Based on my most recent experience, I have now changed the rating as well.

I had a very disappointing experience at Arlington Eye Center with Dr. Roshni Patel, OD. I originally scheduled an appointment for dry eye syndrome because it was the earliest appointment available. Before my visit, I called the office and specifically asked if I could also have a complete eye exam during the same appointment, and I was told that it would not be a problem. During my appointment, I felt that Dr. Patel did not take my concerns seriously. Instead of thoroughly explaining my condition or discussing possible causes and treatment options, she repeatedly blamed my eye makeup. She even pointed to herself and said, “Look at me, I don’t wear makeup,” and suggested that wearing makeup makes people age faster and that eyes become more sensitive over time because of it. I found these comments judgmental and unprofessional. I came for medical advice, not personal opinions about wearing makeup. I asked if there were any prescription medications that could actually treat my dry eye syndrome. Dr. Patel told me that all prescription medications cost around $1,400 without insurance and that there were no less expensive alternatives. Instead, she handed me a coupon for over-the-counter iVIZIA eye drops from CVS and ended the visit. There was no discussion of other treatment options or any attempt to help me find an affordable solution. After my eye exam, I asked about my prescription and was simply told that one eye was around -2.00 and the other around -1.75, and that I should just wear glasses. There was no explanation of whether my dry eye condition could have affected the results or what the next steps should be. I paid $213 for this visit, yet I left feeling like I had received very little actual medical care. I even had to ask for copies of my examination records because they were not offered to me. I later visited another eye clinic for a second opinion. They also diagnosed me with dry eye syndrome, but the experience was completely different. They carefully explained my condition, developed a treatment plan, and prescribed medication that cost only about $70 without insurance. The level of care and professionalism was far better. I expected a thorough examination, professional communication, and evidence-based treatment recommendations. Instead, I left feeling dismissed, judged, and unsupported. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Roshni Patel or Arlington Eye Center.
I saw Dr. Roshni Patel at Arlington Eye Center for treatment of dry eye disease and I had an excellent experience. Dr. Patel specializes in dry eye disease and was very knowledgeable about the latest treatment options. She was also very kind and compassionate. Before performing intense pulsed light (IPL) for my meibomian gland dysfunction, Dr. Patel did a thorough eye examination and took the time to explain the procedure and what to expect. She answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. The IPL treatment and the subsequent meibomian gland expression went smoothly. If my dry eye symptoms begin to really bother me again, I will definitely return to Dr. Patel. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and caring eye doctor.
Packed waiting room but moved quickly and was warned when I checked in. Probably a 1/2 delay. Technician , Jordan, was funny , thorough and made the visit easy. Dr. Ahmed was very convivial and professional and put me at ease about the surgery. Actually can’t wait!
Very pleasant experience from the time I walked in to the time I walked out. Was there on a very busy day yet wait time was negligible. Was impressed watching the staff operate efficiently and effectively to process the patients through their various procedures and consultations I am not good with names but I was particularly impressed with the young woman who did my refraction. I think her name is Karina. Very professional and polished. And of course Dr. Patel was equally impressive in both skill, abilities and demeanor. Can hardly wait for six months when I GET to do it again!
