Childrens Eye Care

My children are ages six and 10, I brought them in for eye exams and had a pleasant experience. The waiting room is basically a playground, there's a movie room, and everyone there was friendly and good with kids. Incidentally they both required corrective lenses and the different options were clearly explained with pricing shown. Childrens care done right.

We had such a great experience at this office! Right away, you can tell they really put thought into making it kid friendly. The office was very clean, and the play area was honestly so impressive, not just a couple toys in the waiting room, but actual animal shaped climbing structures for kids to play on. They even had a little movie room, which my son loved. The exam rooms were also really fun and thoughtfully decorated with different themes like How to Train Your Dragon, Harry Potter, Star Wars, dinosaurs, and more. It made the whole visit feel a lot less stressful and way more fun for kids. Dr. Mai was kind, attentive, and really listened to my concerns. I never felt rushed, and I appreciated how patient and caring they were with my son. Overall, we were really happy with our experience and would definitely recommend this office to other families!

BE AWARE. My child was referred to this practice by our primary care physician. The visit was extremely brief, yet I was billed $681 for a "Comprehensive New Patient" ophthalmology exam and $97 for refraction. After insurance adjustments, I was still responsible for approximately $450 out of pocket. The cost was shocking given the nature and length of the visit. What was even more disappointing was the lack of transparency when I contacted the office to understand the charges. I asked for an explanation because the bill seemed disproportionate to the service provided, but was essentially told that the charges were what they were. Had I known in advance that a routine referral could result in this level of out-of-pocket expense, I would have explored other options. Parents should make sure they understand all potential costs before scheduling with this practice. My experience left me feeling that the billing was excessive and that my concerns were not taken seriously.

Our daughter is going to Dr. Mai for 4.5 years now. Dr. Mai is such an amazing, knowledgeable, and thoughtful doctor. She is very delicate with her childrens' eye exams. She also speaks to parents in a way that parents feel completely informed and can make a collaborative informed decision about different options for their child. We love this office so much! Staff there is excellent and very helpful. We are moving out of state, but feel so fortunate that our daughter was treated by Dr. Mai!

We love this eye care center. Staff is friendly, doctors are kind, gentle with kids, extremely knowledgeable, and very communicative. The rooms are spacious and decorated to be fun and welcoming. We cannot recommend it enough. Dr. Mai is the best!
