The care I received was less than expected. Although, the doctor was helpful, the staff was not. It is impossible to get a refill on my prescribed eye drops. My pharmacy has contacted them several times for a refill --- heard nothing. They were not happy but I called. I felt I was treated like a number, not a patient. I was never fully explained anything -- what cataract surgery is, what are the benefits, risks etc. What to do after, before, during. I would never recommend to anyone.
Dr. Kelly Klimo is wonderful!! She is patient, professional and very knowledgeable!! Her assistant and technician were remarkable.
Since Apex became part of Cincinnati Eye Institute, their quality of service has suffered, and communication has become extremely frustrating. To summarize: After years with them, I received an unusually high bill for my daughter’s routine checkup that made no sense. When I tried to clarify it with the doctor’s office, they informed me that all money matters had to be addressed to the Billing Department. The Billing Department told me they were outsourced so knew nothing about CEI’s fee policies and suggested that I talk to the “office”. And the “office” is like a black hole where messages go to die. Because that is all you can do, leave a message with the kind lady from scheduling or the nice man from billing and wait for someone to get back to you. They never do. I tried searching for a name, a telephone number or an email address associated with the “office” to reach out directly myself but had no luck their either. In the end, after months of trying to talk to someone, anyone, I gave up. Very frustrating.
Father's appointment was at 2, go here at 145 didn't get taken back until 230. It's now 325 and still not done. I don't like places where they believe their time is more valuable that yours. Definitely going to find a new place.
