I recently had cataract surgery on both of my eyes, with procedures performed on April 25 and June 9, and I could not be more grateful for the outstanding care I received throughout the entire process. From my initial consultations to my surgeries and follow-up appointments, every member of the team was professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. They took the time to explain each step of the procedure, answer my questions, and make sure I felt comfortable and informed. The surgical staff made what could have been a stressful experience feel calm and reassuring. Their kindness and attention to detail gave me confidence that I was in excellent hands. Both surgeries went smoothly, and my recovery has been carefully monitored every step of the way. One of the things I appreciated most was how genuinely caring everyone was. I never felt like just another patient. The doctors, technicians, nurses, and office staff treated me with respect and compassion while providing exceptional care. The improvement in my vision has been life-changing. Everyday activities are easier, colors appear brighter, and I am amazed by how much clearer the world looks. Thank you to the entire team for your expertise, dedication, and outstanding patient care. I highly recommend this practice to anyone considering eye surgery or looking for exceptional eye care. My experience has been wonderful from beginning to end.

I called for an appointment and was able to get in right away same day as a new patient. Front desk was pleasant and super helpful. Roxanna is good at what she does and very friendly. Dr Petty is thorough friendly professional and personable. I will be back
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience. Our original appointment was scheduled for 7:50 a.m., but when we arrived, I was told it had been entered into the system as 10:25 a.m. I called the office and was able to secure a same-day appointment with Dr. Chen at 9:40 a.m., yet we still waited nearly an hour before being seen. Unfortunately, the experience only worsened once my daughter was called to the back. i shared my frustrations with the tech, only to be told, we can reschedule you for another day, I Dr. Chen entered the exam room. From the moment he walked in, his tone was dismissive and demeaning. He showed little interest in listening to my concerns or allowing me to explain what was going on with my daughter and what we needed. As a parent, I expect my child's physician to listen, communicate respectfully, and provide compassionate care. That did not happen. To make matters worse, after asking whether my daughter needed a prescription refill, he never sent the prescription to the pharmacy. While checking out, I inquired about the medical clearance letter we had requested for my daughter to join the military. Dr. Chen acted as though he did not care about what I needed and either could not or would not do anything further to help. The young ladies at the front desk were far more helpful than he was. I was told that Dr. Chen is retiring soon and that this is how he has been acting since he's nearing retirement. That is not an acceptable explanation or excuse. A physician's responsibility is to treat patients with professionalism, respect, and compassion. That responsibility should never be diminished simply because they are nearing retirement. I did receive an apology, but I could not accept it because it did not come from Dr. Chen himself. My family has been patients of CEC for many years, and Dr. Chen has cared for us in the past. We have never experienced this type of treatment before. Excusing this behavior because he is close to retirement reflects poorly on the practice. If a provider no longer has the desire or patience to care for patients appropriately, they should step away from practicing rather than jeopardize the trust and reputation that the rest of the practice has worked hard to build. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously so that other families/patients do not have a similar experience.
I have been using this practice for at least 20yrs w a break of 3 yrs due to lack of insurance but have returned recently. Although I thought I had things worked out w patient accts,it turned out to be a very frustrating time but in the final part of visit it was a great visit.Front desk was courteous and helpful as well as tech Hoang high kudos for her professional and friendly service. Last very thankful for Dr.Allen for making me thankful once again for his professional and positive care in treating me like it mattered that I was there. Also thanks for the resident that assisted. Again they restored my positive thoughts of this long time practice. Thank you !
My mother’s appointment at Clayton Eye Center in Morrow on July 16, 2026, was very disappointing. Her appointment was scheduled for 2:40 PM, but she was not seen until about 3:30 PM, and we did not leave until after 5:00 PM. For an elderly patient recovering from a stroke, this was an extremely difficult and exhausting experience. The office appeared to be understaffed and disorganized. During my mother’s eye testing, one technician left in the middle of the procedure and handed her off to another employee who appeared unfamiliar with the equipment and struggled to complete the test. When we asked about the delays, staff were dismissive and condescending. We were also told that if we left because of the excessive wait, we could be charged a no-show fee, even though the delay was caused by the office. I was also concerned about the condition of the facility. The carpeting, counters, and restrooms appeared dirty. In addition, the handicap-accessible restroom was not usable for my mother’s wheelchair, making it difficult to safely assist her. Medical offices that care for elderly and disabled patients should provide timely, respectful care in a clean, accessible environment. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this location and hope the practice addresses its scheduling, staffing, cleanliness, and accessibility issues.
