Cohen'S Fashion Optical

I am writing regarding my recent visit to Cohen’s Optical for an eye exam. Prior to the exam, I specifically asked whether my insurance plan covered both eyeglasses and contact lens exams. I was informed by your staff that they were unsure about contact lens coverage and that they would confirm with a manager. I was then advised to proceed with the exam, with the understanding that this would be clarified afterward. At no point before or during the exam was I informed of any out-of-pocket cost for a contact lens exam, nor was I given the opportunity to approve or decline such a service. After the exam was completed, I was presented with a $125 charge, which came as a complete surprise. Even your staff acknowledged to the manager that no pricing or coverage information had been communicated to me beforehand. This lack of transparency and failure to obtain informed consent is unacceptable. Had I been properly informed, I would have declined the contact exam. Sincerely, Dawn N.

The doctor and her team in the back is amazing! Now once you are finished with your exam and it is time to pick your glasses.. First off I DID NOT get greeted properly , than this lady tells me what my insurance coverage is gives me a look as if i knew what i wanted.. BASIC UGLY FRAMES were $300 and yet my insurance offered $150 credit .. before hand medicaid fully covered prescription glasses at no charge now having to pay 150 out of pocket .. no customer service skills nor do they try to help or accommodate you with a payment plan or something! I understand standard guidelines and procedures vary per doctor office but this would be the last time i come here and get treated like less due to my insurance.. they try to up charge as much as possible and it reads does not benefit the patient. I rather go somewhere wherever i wont be treated less due to my insurance

:( I think I've only ever posted one other poor review. I saw a male optometrist who was condescending, someone ordered the wrong product for me, the hold times on the phone are so long, and one woman who works there is just surly. There are two lovely staff, and the two stars are for them.

Panamanian queen, Michelle had a great eye for my big head and selected a great pair of frames and the manager Christina made sure she used her Calculator to give me that awesome price we had great laughs and made me comfortable to spend my money. I’ll be back for my next pair “God loves his people”

I'm so happy I went in the store when I did. Michelle and Christina came to my rescue after I had a horrible experience with a different company. I was frustrated and they took excellent care of me. Eventhough the store was about to close they were patient and extremely helpful. I got knowledge I never got before from other stores and I left there completely satisfied! They've got my business from now.
