I was a first time patron on12/18/19. I absolutely needed new glasses, as I had not had new ones in over three years. The gentleman who assisted me, Roget, was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He understood my needs for new glasses and he was very accommodating with informing me of any sales. He provided excellent service, as I could not afford two pairs. Not only did he step up and look after me, he made sure that I was informed on the type of lenses that I needed and that were available. End result, I am extremely happy with my glasses. I am definitely recommending Cohen Optical. Thank you so much Roget. I will definitely be a long-time customer.

I was very satisfied with the service I receive from the entire staff. The two men in the front were exceptional. The doctor was very knowledgeable and through. I have never had my eyes examined the way he examined them. He actually made me walk around with the lenses on. Brilliant !!! after that I had my face measured to ensure that my glasses will fit perfectly.

1) Eyewear selection is poor. 2) Eye exam was minimal at best, and I'm not confident the ophthalmologist gave me an accurate prescription. 3) I specifically asked about whether the location could cut lenses in one hour. I was told yes. However, after selecting the glasses and the lenses, I was told these were custom order lenses and it would take a week to cut the lenses... I think the vendor decided to ignore the whole conversation about cutting lenses in one hour to upsell me. He also never asked for my insurance information. In the end he offer to not charge me for the eye exam, and give me a buy one get one deal on the frames, and a few other minimal freebie offers on the lenses which probably worked out about the same as if he had taken the insurance, but the whole interaction was very questionable. 6) I was told the glasses should be ready by the following Wednesday. By the following Thursday night I had still not received a call, so I checked with the store. When someone finally picked up the phone I was told "I was about to call you." Right... Anyways, I confirmed I would be in the next day when the store opened. When I went to pick up the glasses at 10am on Friday, the store was closed. Even the ophthalmologist was locked out. I had to wait more than a half hour because "someone overslept." 7) Shortly after getting my glasses, I noticed one of the arms was loose. I tried tightening it with a small screwdriver to no avail. I stopped by an optical shop in town and they mentioned that the screw wasn't the problem. The arm around the screw is bent. They suggested I go back to the original shop to get it fixed. Yeah, right. I'm never setting foot back at that location. 8) I called over the weekend to see if they could email me a receipt for tax purposes, and I was told that the store could only give out receipts Monday - Friday. 9) Now it's Monday 10:30am and I can't get through on the phone because no one is bothering to pick up.

Booked first appt for daughter's eye exam @ 10AM on Friday, 6/18. Waited outside the store as the store was not yet open for business, and eventually the Manager (Roget?) and Optometrist arrived at 10:20. They were slow to get the store open and set up for business. And once we were finally acknowledged (there were about 8 people waiting at this point), not even a greeting or an apology was offered for the wait. When the glasses were ordered, I was told it would take a week to get them back and I asked if there was any possible way to rush the order since my daughter was taking a road trip and would feel safer with the stronger glasses. Roget did say he'd request a rush. That was all I could ask for. A week and a half later (6/29), I called the store to see if the glasses were in and gave the woman who answered the last and first name of the customer. She replied "yes, they're here" but she said a different first name. I repeated my daughter's first name and asked her when they had come in since we had needed them last Friday, though obviously it was too late, but just curious. She replied "They came last week and we called you." I informed her I had not received a call. She insisted I was left a message. Then she refers to her notes and once again says the right last name but wrong first name. I again said, "No, my daughter's name is A_". So then she says "Hold on." Comes back and says no, they're not here yet and they'll be here on Saturday. No sooner I hang up my house phone, my cellphone is ringing and it's the same woman leaving me a voicemail saying that the glasses are in!! I call back immediately and she confirms the glasses are in fact in. I do not like to leave bad reviews and only feel compelled to when things happen that CAN be controlled. I understand many businesses are understaffed or running on abbreviated hours due to COVID, however to open so late knowing that people have appointments scheduled, and to not even offer an apology or explanation. This is common courtesy and professionalism that one should expect from such a veteran business. I am required to use this business for eyeglasses due to my daughter's health insurance. If it were not for that, I would take my business elsewhere. Roget is a lovely man and very helpful but this business can use some training on how to speak on the phone and handle customers (speaking of the woman on the phone) and basic customer service.

I was worried about the eye exam as I didn't have a lot of confidence in the "optometrist" and the equipment seemed old and very "yesterday" compared to other places I've gone. I went because of the discount and now I realize I should have known better. Sure enough, when I went to pick up the glasses the prescription was wrong. I've been wearing glasses for forty years and have gotten countless prescriptions. This is the first time that has ever happened. Never again going back to Cohen's. I should say, the salesman was very good and helpful.
