Came into this location, since they moved from Crystal Mall. I was in need of new glasses soon and wanted to check out their frames. First time coming in and was greeted and helped right away. I ended up finding 7 different pairs I liked and narrowed it down to 4. My eye perscription comes up in July so I havent gotten the glasses yet but will def write more when I see how they last. They did give my a preliminary quote and for two pairs of glasses compare to the price for one pair a lens crafters. So I really liked that. They also take all insurances if you have eye glass coverage because some Medicares do not. Can't wait for July.

I went back to Cohens after years of going somewhere else, and I am sorry I did. I bought a pair of regular glasses, and a pair of sun glasses. The sun glasses I can not wear because it makes my eyes wonky, and the other pair I have brought back several times because either the nose piece falls off, or the lens pops out. The last time I brought them back, the manager was rude to me. I purchased them in April of 25 and I did buy the insurance on them. The color is also chipping on the frame. Frame has been replaced also.
I've been a Cohen's customer since I was 16-18 so just over two decades now, followed them over from the mall. Going here its nice to see some of the veterans of the old location, the gentleman in the vest always goes above and beyond to take good care of you and all his customers. He knows his craft, his products, and how to get a great fit with your new lenses. I wish I could leave this review there, I really do. I'd give 5 stars for my customer experience on the showroom floor. Buying new glasses should be fun! But there's a dark side... Man do I HATE the exam rooms! They're something out of 1984. Clinical, cold and inhuman - like the worst aspects of a hospital. Guys - we're not lab rats! Getting your eyes checked has always been a fun experience, but back here, this feels like the Dentist's. Please, ditch the lab coats, put on a cardigan, and put in some carpets, couches and COLOR for the love of god. Take some inspiration from the old location, or a travel agency - something that isn't 'clinical'. Those overhead lights are soul sucking. What's really sad is that, this move is probably a sign of things to come to my beloved eyeglass industry; They (the industry/franchise, not the employees) are trying to magic this into yet another medical insurance grift, and man I could not hate that more.
I went with my elderly mother who needed new glasses. They were so patient and helpful with her, even when it took more time than normal for the exam and picking out eyeglasses. I would highly recommend them!
Cohen's of Waterford, CT sales staff have provided our family with good style advice and respectful, pleasant service for over a decade. Virtual Dr. Christine Kantor was personable and informative, answering all my questions, addressing all my concerns. Be aware, in person Dr is available for clients who can't tolerate the bright light needed for a test. Also, virtual and in person doctor imaging is not shared for comparison at future visits.
