First and foremost, the front desk staff, Dr. Millsaps, and her assistants were absolutely phenomenal. I have never had such a thorough eye exam, and I was extremely pleased with the level of care I received. I would highly recommend them. Unfortunately, my experience changed when it came time to discuss frames, lenses, and pricing. I explained that I was working with a limited budget because I’ll be getting much better insurance coverage on June 1st, and I planned to wait until then for a more expensive pair of glasses. As soon as I mentioned that, the attitude of the staff member assisting me completely changed. I was quickly handed my prescription and felt rushed out the door. She even brought out a basket of very cheap frames for me to look at, despite the fact that I still had a $130 frame allowance through my current insurance. It honestly felt like because I wasn’t spending $400+ on glasses that day, I was no longer worth helping. It was disappointing because every other aspect of the office was exceptional. The 5 stars are absolutely for the doctor, assistants, and front desk staff, but definitely not for the experience I had with Jeanette in the optical department. No one wants to leave and go elsewhere to order glasses after such a positive visit otherwise.

I have never been disappointed with the quality of care I have received at Cumberland Eye care I actually went through another place that gave a large discount through my work. I will not mention their name. I ended up coming back to Cumberland they always get me in and out in a timely fashion without feeling rushed. They are friendly and caring & very informative. To be honest even with a "huge" discount at the place my company encouraged us to use I came out cheaper by almost $100 by just getting what I wanted and going with Cumberland Eye Care. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Jones and all of the staff are wonderful! He explained things to me about a medicine I have been on for over 20 years that no other doctor has ever mentioned to me! Such a refreshing experience! I am so thankful he is in Sparta now! The staff is always so kind and considerate—always willing to accommodate me in any way they can! Thank you all for your dedication to your patients!

They argued that they wanted to do a diabetic screening and do my eye exam on another day, instead of a regular eye exam, which I had an appointment for. For the eye exam, they did not do all the regular things they usually do, like dilation, and screening for glaucoma. They said that was part of the diabetic exam now. They will charge my regular health insurance for that and I will have to pay a copay. The person at the front desk said they do that for the insurance since they got new owners. They didn't have my old records on file. No idea where they went. I went to a different eye doctor and got a full exam all in one day. Their prescription was completely different. I won't be back to Cumberland Eye Care. New ownership has really changed things, unfortunately. However, I saw the same OD that I saw two years ago. She wanted to know where I got my prescription, since the prism was now the opposite. I saw her two years ago. Glad I went to another eye doctor.

Everyone was wonderful from start to finish. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Exam and frame selection was quick and simple. I received my frames with a week from appointment and exam date. They explained the processes and results clearly and answered any questions that I had.
